Is there a correct way to stir a cup of tea?

I remember seeing something on telly, I think it was "Inside the factory" or similar documentary, and it featured the correct way to prepare and stir a cuppa, from some bloke who worked as a tea taster.

I'm right handed and stir tea/coffee anti-clockwise. But not a lot as it cools the drink too quickly.

Correct way is three times clockwise, four times anti-clockwise, two times clockwise, up then down seven times, then four times clockwise.

Repeat this process six times. By which time the tea will be cold and you can chuck it down the sink and make a nice cup of coffee instead.
