Is the end near for watching the games on dodgy channels?

you could get footy for 6.99 on now tv

If you only plan on watching a handful of matches on Sky Sports, take a look at Now TV's Sports Passes. These will let you watch as much Sky Sports as you want for either 30 days, a week, or a day. A day pass will set you back £6.99, a week will cost £10.99 and a month £33.99. Clearly, however, this isn't comparable with the cost of the annual package listed above, because you don't get a landline or broadband as part of the deal.

how many people would you get wanting a safc tv season pass v wanting a man u one, & man u would want a bigger share
That's shite. What a rip off!

I still think a PPV season ticket club by club would be the best way to do it. The clubs would pose the biggest problem I feel, like you say the big boys would want a big slice, the smaller clubs would have less demand.

Does MUFCTV and LFCTV etc still broadcast and show 1st team games?

Yes but just show live youth & reserves

They have live audio commentary for premier games

I agree, but not about the price. People who live away or even away games for season ticket holders are an untapped market. I live over 300 miles from the SOL. Streaming has not changed the very few games I get to per season. It is high ticket and travel costs plus time that keeps me away. So, I watch as many games as I can on streams. I'd love the club to sell me a quality stream and have my money go back into football, not to criminals abroad.

£15 seems a bit steep though. That is £570 per season. If the league are going to make it work, it needs to be more like £3 per game, otherwise people will stick to dodgey sites.
You're very similar in circumstances to me, I try and make at least 1 game a season, I failed last year for the first time in 4 years but money was tight and if I do go back up home I wanna make more of it than just a match, so I have to factor in hotel/BB costs too boot.

Being able to pay to access a quality stream from anywhere in the world would be perfect for me, I often work abroad and flights often take me out pre weekend or bring me home on Mondays so being able to sit in a hotel room with me laptop going would be perfect.

Price wise I was speculating a bigger price for if Sky etc were involved, if it was done club by club I could see us charging something like £10PM for it, that's comparable to Netflix and Spotify. To be honest I'd pay more than £10 a month for a truly high quality stream and especially if it was direct from the club!

I'd love to see an NFL style PPV/season ticket premier league streaming service, but it won't happen. The reason a lot of these services are limited in the host country (nfl is delayed by a day in the US, we get all games live) is because they don't want people to stop going to games or watching through their broadcast partners. They make all their money from these inflated TV deals and exorbitant ticket prices etc.

In America, there used to be a terrible rule where you couldn't even watch your local team on legit TV that it is being shown on anyway (CBS, FOX) if they hadn't sold out the stadium :D

The infrastructure is sort of there for some clubs already, even us with SAFSee have the ability to do it, we did it over pre-season, quality was iffy at times, but it was from France etc.

Do Real and Barca still have their club channels? Do they broadcast live 1st team games!

Thing is sky still couldn't compete cause they can't show any 3pm games

Bout time this rule was scrapped

The tv companies can't even show a foreign game if it's on at 1700 our time

Bloody barmy

a rule from 1960 when you didn't have the net,

http://www.live-footballontv.com/football-tv-blackout-rule-uk.html

Supporters of the rule believe removing the blackout would "threaten the sanctity" of the traditional Saturday 3pm kick-off. Recent findings from the European Court of Justice suggest the blackout period has little or no impact on attendances and, in fact, may restrict the European Commissions desire for cross-border access to audio-visual content.

Aye bob Lord Burnley chairmain brought it in

Should be scrapped now

Could not find our game anywhere. Last season I paid 16.99 to watch every Premier game live. Up to 8 3pm kick offs was shown on a Saturday. That has been knocked to one game shown at 3pm. I'm sure it's the same in other countries. Heard a few saying that they couldn't find our match on in any pub in the town ?
Phoenix sports devil and dragon streams

This pops up every year and the answer is the same as always: no.

In fact, it's only the beginning really. As soon as the authorities shut one place down, another will open up almost immediately. The joy of internet. It's a never ending cycle and they've made a rod for their own back by being so far behind the times.

The likes of the NFL and the NBA offer a fantastic subscription service where you can watch any game live, then you can go back and watch them at your convenience during the week.

As always, over here we are in the stone ages.

I refuse to knack about searching for free streams when I don't miss 50p a week. Quality is worth paying for imo.
Search?

Open Live Media Player app, enter Sunderland, sit back and enjoy. Works every time.

Finding a stream that compatible with iPad is beyond me, but tbf I'd rather pay less than a pint of Stella and watch it in peace. I accept that's down to mainly laziness on my part. Either that or, follow it on PF and listen to Jeff. :)

Why do people pay for streams. They're so easy to get for free
Paid are bit more reliable

I think anyone discussing SM should give their head a shake and remember that you can make people aware through PM's etc.

The relevant authorities will be well aware of SM by now.

I understand what you're saying in regards to not getting the owners of the site in bother etc by constantly speaking about the site - but they live by the sword, die by the sword surely? They are well aware that the service they are providing is illegal.

Was on 3 channels yesterday.

Clubs may loose a couple hundred fans, but it's highly unlikely that most fans would stop going. Season ticket holders would still go.

True, but the powers that be have long be scared that media coverage of matches would reduce attendances.

I remember the days that they would only say there would be radio coverage 'of the second half of one of today's games' in case revealing the game in question would mean no one would turn up.
