Is the end near for watching the games on dodgy channels?

Sky don't show 3pm games so don't even see why people are comparing the two.

Any game that is on sky or is early/late kick off is also available on the free add ons in kodi and in good quality. It's the 3pm games free streams struggle with (unless your playing the top 4) and that's what a paid sub sorts out.
this a million %

You think this is as a result of them cracking down or should I contact smartdnsproxy to say it's their problem?

I think the problem will be with smartdnsproxy. They'll deny it of course. NBC have loads of bandwidth and I know for a fact it works fine in the USA.

Nah, NBC can cope with the bandwidth demands, the problem is not their end.

I can guarantee you it can and does.
It has to be, whenever playing the full replays or say the Golf Channel there are no problems.

Stuttering/stopping is due to reduction in packets received, this would be caused by too many simultaneous connections.

I can guarantee you it can and does. Your NBC would work fine otherwise.
It doesn't. Speedtest is exactly the same via a device not using SmartDNS vs. one that does.

You realise you're talking NBC here? If there was a problem with the bandwidth for their online service, you'd expect many complaints from people paying for their service in the USA.

The problem is with smardns and the likes, guaranteed. The golf channel doesn't even require authentication iirc.

Does the location on speedtest.net show as being in the USA when using speedtest?

I can guarantee you that NBC aren't struggling for bandwidth, the problem is elsewhere.

If you say so. I've worked in IT all my life and I know DNS would have (at most) a millisecond delay in connecting to the host peer. It's too many simultaneous connects that is causing the issue.

How can it when I'm using a DNS server? VPN spoofs your physical location, not DNS.

All your life, wow, is IT the new pit?. ;)

Think about what you're saying. NBC, you know NBC, the huge US company NBC, can't cope with the bandwidth demands of their customers and a handful of overseas geeks on the internet for streaming football. None of their paying customers in the USA bother to complain though, they just get on with it.

The issue is with smartdns, I know this for a fact, I can connect using smartdns proxy here and it stutters. I can connect to a PC in the USA and connect to the exact same stream and it doesn't buffer once. Magic.

NO it doesn't affect internet speed at all!

Streaming directly comes to your pc/devices from the remote website/channel servers (NBC). It's not coming from Smart DNS servers. So I am getting the best possible speed the Internet Service Provider (Virgin, 8o meg)

I'll leave it at that as you won't listen, too many simultaneous connects is the problem.

How can you explain the fact that once I remove smart dns from the equation it works fine?

Do you understand how NBC authenticate their streams and how often? I won't listen to you as you're clueless. You've supposedly worked in IT "all your life" and think for one second NBC consistently don't have enough bandwidth to serve it's paying customers. Give your head a shake man.

So is kodi fucked for footy?

Nah

Look mate, if you don't know how DNS works versus VPN then I'm not going to bother explaining it to you. IF there was an issue on VPN only and not DNS then you would be correct, but there is stutter/stop regardless.

There are too many people using the same (stolen/borrowed) login(s) at the same time which is causing the problem.

If you want to believe otherwise, just do, don't try convincing me otherwise when you don't know how DNS works.

Well I watched it in HD with no buffering in my gaff. Plenty of cans in the fridge too.

So no. It's not the end.

Me anarl. Sportsmania.

Doubt they cn ever blow it out the water. They block a server they re-open within days /hours under a different name / web address.

Also if you use a proxy server you'll not get blocked geographically
