I just don't get that gut wrenching feeling that comes before the skunks matches so the answer has to be no.

This, not a deby but a bit more spicy than West Brom away for example.Bit more in it than a usual game but not enough to be a derby I’d say.
It’ll be a belter that like looking forward to itThis, not a deby but a bit more spicy than West Brom away for example.
Mind you, they way some are going on Stoke is bigger than Newcastle & Boro combined now.
A game 30 odd miles away aint a derbyYes it is, and any holier than though people on here who think otherwise ,are full of shit.
Horseshit.A game 30 odd miles away aint a derby
I have a come on this board, quite a few times over the years, (more so when we are in the same division) and I must have at least seen 10 threads like this on Boro? They go on for page after page, 10000 views, Sunderland lads going into great detail sometimes why it isn’t a derby! Why is it so important for your lot to distinguish this? And why is it so important in general? Enjoy the game, it’s a football match with quite a lot history between the clubs and supporters over the years on and off the pitch...yes it doesn’t have the feeling between lads like it did in the 70s and 80s, but it’s still a game we should all look forward too without thinking why?
Just seen this discussion.
For me the answer's no.
It's a nice bit of regional pride to beat them, but otherwise I don't find I have a reason to despise them like the mags or feel strong emotions.
I also seen a thought provoking reply to that noting that we don't hold grudges against our former players who go there either (Arca, Leadbitter) whereas that's not the case with those up the road.
Although I’ve said it’s a derby to me I must admit I don’t get the nerves like I do before a mag match.I just don't get that gut wrenching feeling that comes before the skunks matches so the answer has to be no.
Being from East Durham you never see any boro fans to care about them until you’re due to play them. It’s different with the mags as they’re always there to remind you that they’re apparently massive and they get on ya tits.
