You can dislike a club alot without it being a derby. They seem to dislike us more than we them. Do you hate Leeds?
I could be wrong (my memory is not what it was) but I seem to remember that Leeds United recovered fairly well from the shock of that final. The 1973-74 Season saw them winning the League Championship, with 62 points, and going 29 games unbeaten, they lost only four games in the campaign, their first league defeat coming in February (2-3 at Stoke City) MAN! I wish my mob could go (ahem) "tits up" like that!!!There club went tits up after beating them in fa cup final in 1973 we are partially blamed for there downfall after that thats why hate us and vice versa scumbags

Easington CW are a bigger club than the smoggies let alone usI’ve lived in Leeds since 1987. There’s a bit of an edge to the game due to ‘73 and being two big clubs that are relatively close. I’d say it’s a bigger game than Leeds v Boro for instance because they’d acknowledge we’re a bigger club than Boro. But it’s not a derby. I can say there’s some nervousness about Tuesday here. Especially about Clarke
Hey Hank! That was a BRILLIANT read pal!!! That Boxing day game at Elland Road was the BBC "second half commentary game" my Uncle Chas and I thought we were listening to the "Grandstand Fight of the Week" (not too many of you will remember that methinks?!Good read here for @Bald King

This ^^^^^Not a derby at all, but a big game between two clubs with a bit of history between each other.
Derbies are between clubs from the same area. Being from north of the Wear and south of the Tyne I hardly even think of Boro as being a derby.
** Bradford and Barnsley are closer to Sunderland than Leeds. If they were in the Championship would they be considered as derby games?? No is the answer. No, you don't " remember" that at all, you looked it up.

You can't possibly have a "derby" match with a club 95 miles away.
Certainly there's history and a bit of bad blood between the clubs, but no way is it a derby match.

Don Revie used to moan like fuck about their shite attendances in the seventies. Leeds isn’t a football city.
