Is attaching files to emails not a thing any more?

Got some bellend sending me a link to a Google docs file that he hasn't given me f***ing access to. ****.

People sending around attachments is a pain as you never know if it is the latest version. Much better to send a link to the source document. Just need to ask your bellend to give you access. Simple.

We used to have an office manager who would send around a spreadsheet asking everyone to fill it in and she'd spend an age compiling all of the responses. Just give people access to a shared document.

If that's what they propose to use for a document they need me to see (so they get paid by the way), they need to have sorted access when they send it me, not send me a broken f***ing link then ten f***ing chase emails to see if I've waved my magic wand and solved their f***ing problem already. That's where the time and effort needs to be spent.

Sounds like you need to relax a little.

If it’s to one or two people then I’d attach a file. You can also attach them to a Teams chat.

It’s always hit and miss if someone sends a link as share point has a lot of hissy fits.

I either get massive files that break outlook or a link to a sharepoint that I don’t have access to

Sharepoint security is always a pain to get right. Our current system has everything locked down by fault so I am continually having to grant others access while I've seen others which are far too open.

And then even when you do have access to edit a file, OneDrive throws a wobbly and refuses to merge changes

Surely people can't get this angry (to the point they've logged onto a messageboard and posted about it) because someone has sent a file and forgotten to change access rights to said file??

...
