What happened to the Jewish community round Grangetown/Ashbrooke?
Used to be loads of them when I was a lad and now they seem to have just disappeared
true..there was 2 synagogues and at the bottom of the Cedars a jewish school/hostelry they had a football team in the sunday league but not in the saturday league for some reasoni heard it was a sad day mate the day the last jew left sunderland mate

there was 3 jewish kids in my class at ryhope grammar in the late 60's,they used to get let out at 2pm every friday in the winter i was thinking of convertingCharles Slater still around ?
