Is a world without racism possible?

I agree and as I’ve said what’s happened in the past is wrong and thankfully no longer exists. I can’t recall one instance where I’ve personally encountered someone getting a raw deal based on their skin colour.
I can however look at the South African cricket team and give instances where lads have had to leave their own country in order to receive a better opportunity due to black players being pushed forward to satisfy ‘qoutas’.

Have you ever heard of this lovely chap? Dylann Roof - Wikipedia
I feel like the people he killed definitely got a raw deal based on their skin colour. Can't really believe the things you're saying here, unless your knowledge of the world only extends to your personal experience - which seems rather narrow in this instance.

Well I don’t see any noticeable discrimination in this country towards black people. Nothing that goes beyond the odd bit of name calling anyway.
I give up with you, man... I would comment on this more but you clearly are clueless and a waste of time.

Please continue to enjoy your life behind closed doors, pal, just be sure not to open any curtains as you might get a glimpse of reality...

The majority of my close friends are black, of various background, from Carribean, West African and even a few East Africans. Whilst I've disagreed with them over some things I've heard claimed as racism, there's still plenty of racism present today.

I’m not racist I couldn’t care less about skin colour but I hate the hypocrisy in regards to race. I gebuinely see no difference in hearing someone called ugly to being called black whatever. Far too much is made of race and I feel all non whites are put on a pedestal when it comes to colour. It’s just name calling at end of day. If someone isn’t getting opportunities based on they’d race then it’s a problem, if it’s just being called a name then get over it imo.
People need to try and understand this instead of screaming racist at every opportunity. I use plenty of those 70s words when taking about other ethnicities with my friends, but I wouldn’t use them to offend someone. That’s not being a racist.

I’ve played cricket with lads of all different ethnic backgrounds. A mate of mine proudly sports ‘proud to be a paki’ on his tshirt he wears under his cricket top and is a right handy fucker as well. He’s done remarkably well for himself and has managed to do so without ever to my knowledge bleating on about discrimination.
Obviously we all have different examples but I can’t think of any one instance to my knowledge that someone has got a raw deal based on skin colour.

It’s f***ing embarrassing really. The lengths they go to to justify themselves.
People who don't want to see it won't see it, no matter how blatant it smacks them on the face....

It makes their life and their world less complicated, I guess...

Playing cricket with a few lads and having the majority of my close friends being non-white is a bit different. Several of my friends are also very successful and don't 'bleat on' about racism, but it doesn't mean they haven't experienced it. Are you suggesting people who don't do well by your standards just 'bleat on about racism' as an excuse?

One of my pals has a very successful business, with an office just off Oxford Street. He's experienced racism from when he was poor, until now as a 'successful' millionaire. I've got others who've experienced racism from living in some slummy tower block as a yout, to being 'successful' enough to afford to rent in a better area. None of them 'bleat on' about it, but have exprtienced it.

Can only speak as find and I haven’t heard one tale of woe from any black lads I know nor seen anything to suggest there is a significant issue.
The world isn’t perfect and of course there will still be pockets but not to any great extent imo.

Tbf there is a flip side of that.
Some people seem determined to see racism everywhere.
Correct.

Are you a minority? Have you ever felt someone call you a derogatory name because of your race in so much hatred it cuts you deep? Have you ever been denied service somewhere because of the color of your race? Have you ever been told to go back to "your" country even though you weren't born there?

I am guessing not. Being called fat is one thing. Being singled out and called out a derogatory name because of your race is completely different. But you wouldn't know that because you have never experienced it.

And, I'm half Black half Filipino in case you're wondering...
Apologies if you have already been asked, but how/why the fuck have you ended up on this wonderful part of the Internet?

Correct.
I don’t think the first choice of person I’d go telling my experiences of being the subject of some form of abuse would be someone who openly declares that that form of abuse doesn’t happen. Could be just me mind, and how I would operate.

If that's what you want to believe mate.

Blame Jozy... I was a fan of his until the utter disaster that he became when playing for this team... man, was he horrible... I stopped being a fan of his, but I became a fan of the team. Research about the team, led me to this place...

I think my definition of racialism and others is a bit different .For instance Bernard Manning telling jokes about Pakistani,Irish ,Scottish ,Jewish etc is just that- jokes.
But someone feeling threatened ,intimidated due to their skin colour/faith/surname etc is disgusting and if I ever witnessed that I’d put myself in harms way to defend them .
