West coast, County Clare would be my preference. Some amazing beaches, can go dolphin watching, good food and live music, bunratty castle was a big hit with my boy at a similar age. We stayed here last time:Looking into booking a week in Ireland in September, I have a 3 year old so will need to be suitable for kids. Any suggestions on destination?
Getting the boat over from Holyhead and was thinking Cork or Galway.

Take a strip over to the Aran Islands. Beaches and sea is like something from the caribbean apart from being cold.
I only went to Inisheer on a day trip but that was great. Will do an overnighter to Inishmore one day.Best fish and chips I've ever had on Inishmore. Beautiful place.
Well worth it. An amazing place. Your mates B and B looks lovely. Unfortunately we now have a dog so next trip will have to be somewhere dog friendly.I only went to Inisheer on a day trip but that was great. Will do an overnighter to Inishmore one day.
