Ireland Banning Petrol and Diesel Cars

By 2030. Bold move that like

Irish plan to ban petrol, diesel vehicles

The Irish government plans to ban the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles by 2030, as part of a major strategy to protect the environment.

The aim is to ensure that all new cars and vans on Irish roads in 11 years' time are electric vehicles.

Well at least they're taking a stand.
Good on them. So long as the infrastructure is in place, there shouldn't be a reason why this isn't possible.

Makes sense, as an island, it’s less than 500km in length which means range won’t usually be too much of a problem.

Infrastructure is the biggest barrier, but they have ten years to sort that.

Hopefully loads of incentives for the customers for purchasing vehicles and installing charging stations etc.

Things like this will atleast encourage people to put the infrastructure in place. It guarantees a pay off essentially. I wouldn't be surprised if you started seeing top up charging style meters in car parks, work places etc. As a result

Well maybe they can put it in place. They have time.
Why should you be negative about something we're all probably going to have to do anyway?
I do t think he’s being negotiable, they’re going to have to start now to get the funding and infrastructure in place.

Don’t know how many new cars are sold in Ireland per year, plus a lot of Ireland is quite remote, it’s going to be a massive undertaking.

Great if they do.
