Good analysis but don't Israel have sufficient anti missile defences? Hundreds of thousands? Really? The US are massively more powerful but dont have an end game in attacking Iran.
They could try a small scale strategic attack to bring them inline but it wouldn't work and risk escalation.
They are not going to invade Iran and force regime change. It's not Iraq. Its huge, has some of the worst terrain in the World and a much stronger military then Saddam had.
And if they try to destroy them completely and it's an existential threat then Iran and hizbollah will destroy Israel with the hundreds of thousands of missiles they have aimed at them. They will die in the process but if nothing left to lose they would overwhelm Israel with shear missile numbers alone.
In a game of military top trumps the US hammers Iran. But they have no realistic outcome in a war with them and Irans ace card is the threat they are to Israel.
