Invest in Africa

IiA is a slightly odd sponsor, but I prefer it to some generic betting website like BetBet123ABC or whatever.

Think it's quick a cool looking logo anarl, could make for a decent looking shirt. The Tullow logo is nice too.

I hope it does happen as it will suit the club financially, and it sounds like a fairly ethical enterprise.

However, it also makes me wonder how the closet racists (and there are some) will react. If they usually wear shirts - will they be willing to wear one with Invest in Africa on it? If they buy the stadium naming rights, will they turn up to a stadium with Invest in Africa in the title? After all, what Invest in Africa is really saying is Invest in Black, Muslim and Afro-Indian people.

Or will they bite the bullet?

If it happens it'll be quite a conundrum for them, I think.

 do you think all racists are rabid animals foaming at the mouth at everything black or foreign like

Anyone have any idea of financial figures for these deals compared to what we already have?

It better be worth it if we're having Invest in Africa on the front. Will look crap. The last time we invested in Africa, the twat buggered off and left us in the lurch!
Don't mind the Tullow oil logo

Not all, but most in my experience.

maybe if youre on about NF types, some sort of proper neo nazi types. not many of them these days though. most racism youll hear round sunderland is stuff like 'paki' or whatever and ill guarentee no one will give a fuck about having that on the shirt like they dont give a fuck about cheering for black players

 sess has left already?!

I'm in Africa and can confirm that pretty much nobody here gives a fuck about Sunderland, so I'm sure it could improve our profile considerably. Unfortunately, everyone's so poor that I can't see how it could increase our revenue much?! Lets face it, having the word Africa across our shirt is not going to compete with teams with African stars winning Champions Leagues for other teams. If anything, it'll probably just lead to a few fake Sunderland shirts being flogged in dodgy markets.

I don't even understand your statement....? What does ' as a concept we have nothing to do with Africa' mean????
me neither, think he's talking swahealy!...mate showed me a pic of the new home shirt at least two weeks ago adidas one looked like a stoke top.....suppose a sponsor is looking for whats in it for them not the other way round so its exposure here and on the world tvs they're after.......

Worry not, the whole thing is a massive misunderstanding and the real sponsor is Protektorvest.

There's still plenty "NF types" about, believe me. I come across them almost everyday through work.

I know what you mean about black/foreign players, but if your heart's with a football club you have to pretty much accept that these days. It's a different matter having the choice wether or not to wear something you're against emblazoned on your chest though.

no one will care. maybe one or two extreme examples who wont go to tgames in the first place. most 'racists' wont give a shit. anyway grown men wearing replica tops is just wrong whatever sponsor is on the front
