International I Hate Coriander Day 24th Feb

Same here, I wasn’t a fan for years then had a curry with some fresh chopped mixed in and had to eat it yet thoroughly enjoyed it and I’ve not looked back since.
Stick it in with any vegetable soup, Cumin as well if adventurous . Tremendous.

Enhances Mexican food, Indian food, Middle Eastern Salads, South East Asian food, forget your ganja mate, coriander's the only herb papa needs

Apparently whether you like corriander or not is all down to genetics. Some people have a gene modification which makes it taste terrible.

Love it me.

Yep, “super taster” is the term. I’m one of them. Coriander, olives, anchovies even honey all have incredibly overpowering flavours to me.

Cooked I can eat it, in curries etc. but fresh I can't stand the taste. People love putting it on everything these days as well, not even on the menu half the time

I prefer to use (commonly American) 'cilantro' to describe the leaves of the herb because while I hate the leaf, but the rest of the plant (root, etc.) Is just fine. The fresher the leaf, the more revolting it is. It makes eating Mexican food a challenge at times. Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian are less of a problem as the leaf is generally just used as a garnish. In short, it looks pretty but tastes ugly.
