    There’s a prevailing trend on that map whereby the US government have been involved in conflict in areas of destabilised government and attractive oil reserves.

    Security of energy is a high priority to them.
  7. Yes it was quite a surprise when I saw it, it makes a lot of sense when you see the map just how screwed up the world is because of oil.

    They were an excellent band. Saw them at the Argus Butterfly, Peterlee around 1969. They were trying to be Cream, who had just broken up; so a three-piece with a bassist/singer. Hard rock or Blues rock would probably describe it.
    In December '68 I booked Mick Taylor's band The Gods to play Peterlee Tech's Xmas party at Durham Town Hall. They were about £80 too. Six months later he was a Rolling Stone.
