He might well have scored but whose idea was it to entrust Love with a penalty?
 
I used to find that with some striker of that type. Tony Cottee was another who missed loads. Much better when the ball is moving and they don't have to think. Phillips wasn't outstanding at one on ones either but if it was movement and one touch finishes he was as good as you get.
Shearer missed his fair share of penalties too. I suppose when you get awarded a lot of them, the odds are you’ll miss a few. But some people just never, or rarely seemed to miss - Le Tissier, Balotelli
 
Im certain I heard this stat about most consecutive successful penalties in Premier league at some time when we were still a Premier League team, I just cannot find anywhere to support it.
