The German model means that German clubs will never get taken over by eg SaudisThe same argument can be used to ban Man Utd, City, Arsenal Chelsea from the premier league...they just have such a financial advantage it isn't fair. (Yet we did beat Chelsea a few days ago).
And they'd be happy to go..start their own super league.
Money talks. If European teams wants more cash they should make their leagues more appealing to a global audience,

Think another benefit of removing a Conference League place from PL would mean another European team gets into Europa the next season by winning it - probably helps to balance things out further rather than just having that as another route for PL teams to get into Europa LeagueI can see the point on the conference.
Chelsea have won the conference leagues with like eight times the budget of anyone other team in it. Any English team in the Prem has a Champions League budget and can attract Champions League players (we did). English teams in the conference are just far too rich for the competition, which is how even David Moyes can win it.
I can see the argument that if the prem (and la liga) get an extra CL place that should come at the expense of the conference league place. It wouldn't reduce the prestige much, cos the prestige is already very limited, but it would make it more open. And eight teams qualifying for europa through the league is stupid.
Remove that place, if the top 5 go to the CL, and make it the top 7 get europe and I have no complaints.
The Europa League OTOH has Milan, Leverkusen, Juventus, Marseille etc in it, they can f***ing cope with having to play us or Palace or Bournemouth.

About Johnny...
I grew up on Teesside in the 70's when the clothes and the skies were brown. Since then I've lived in over 20 different places from the North of Scotland to Southern California during which time, I have never had a paid job, nor have I owned a suit. How on earth I've actually survived is sometimes a bit of a mystery. My writing career began in November 2000 when I started writing for Football365. My 'A Very Northern Mind' column gained me some degree of notoriety. Some loved it, some hated it and were not slow to tell me. 18 years later I was short-listed for Writer of the Year by the Football Supporters Federation, so I must've been doing something right.
Strings to my bow....
I've written for a lot of different publications and newspapers over the years. In 2010 my book We Ate All The Pies was long-listed for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year. Ten years later Can We Have Our Football Back? was long-listed for Football Book of the year on the Telegraph Sports Book Awards. I've also done Edinburgh Fringe reviews for many years. In 2015 I was even on the comedy awards panel; a great honour and responsibility. Apart from writing novels I still write about football, cricket, rugby and tennis as well as contributing features to Rock Candy magazine - which celebrates rock music of the 70's and 80's.You must be logged on to see external links
These days I live on the west coast of Scotland with Dawn and a puss called Rabbie. When not writing I'm usually to be found growing food, digging holes, picking ticks off my skin and purring as I stroke some of my 7000 vinyl albums.
It's been like that for years and years why didn't he write that years ago ?You’d be 99% wrong
What the bloke is saying is the disparity in wealth between the vast majority of European clubs and English clubs is making a mockery of euro cup comps.
Other than PSG, Bayern, 3 Spanish clubs the rest are comparative paupers
Bournemouth are 26th richest club in the world
It isnt a level playing field
The German model means that German clubs will never get taken over by eg Saudis
Nothing wrong with that
Too many shonky people out there
