Inter win Alvarez case

And folk say the De Fanti transfers were awful.

The ineptitude of that charlatan 'Congers' (pass the sick bag) has cost us multi-millions.

And Byrne, with her fantastic idea of being able to wriggle out of previously agreed deals... one of the most costly (where the cost is direct, tanglible and obvious) mistakes in our history.

Got us promoted, kept us up. We finished 13 or 14th if i remember correctly.

Regardless, thick fuckers are missing the point. It's about the way the club was ran, since Ellis took over and Keane left, there has been zero ambition to progress.

Not f***ing hard man.
I don't think Keane leaving was the issue. I think where there has been a noticeable change in the club was between Short simply financing the club with Quinn as chairman, to Short taking on a more hands on role after Quinn was pushed out. And I don't think that's because Quinn was a particularly good chairman either - just what replaced him has been terrible.

not an issue this like. £7.5m is absolutely fuck all and means nothing to us. Plus the absolutely brain dead wanker Bryne who's complete lack of moral fibre had landed us in this mess has already gone along with Congers who IMO was worse than Di Fante.

The article gives me an idea mind, we should buy Candreva.

£7.5m would account for something like 40% of our losses last season. If tescos lost £7.5m over a dodgey deal you would have a point, but £7.5m is a huge loss for a business of Sunderlands size

Our owner is a Billionaire, if it seriously looked like it would harm the club he could cover it with one phone call from the Ritz. Plus it seems like we have managed to buy 1 shite 7.5m plus player a season for the last 5 years. Let's just write this off as this summers and watch Sam get every buy right:lol::)

I've not seen this news on any reputable website or football show. Maybe I've missed it, but until I do I won't believe it.
No, we must blame the club each and every time a dodgy source tells us we've lost our case. Besides most of the people on here know the in and outs of the story more than the club anyway.

I think if we do lose the case it's hard to see how it isn't bad the worst piece of business we've ever done.

Obviously we'll get on with it and it won't be the end of the world, but it does seem like it would be an unnecessary kick in the teeth.

On the plus side we won't be lumbered with a shit midfielder on high wages that no-one will take off our hands cos we're paying him far more than he's worth unlike loads of other players we have or have had

Given the way the club have been run lately did anybody seriously believe it would not be us at fault? Between that £10 million and sacking Johnson who also cost £10 million this has been a very very costly season.

An Italian rag with conflicting stories.

Inter have not given up hope of collecting the €10.5 million they are owed by Sunderland for midfielder Ricky Alvarez. The Premier League side, despite agreements with the nerazzurri, refused to take up their obligation to buy the player outright in 2014-15 after he helped the club remain in the top-flight citing the players physical condition. Today however, the Corriere dello Sport could have some good news for the club.

FIRST INSTALLMENT
From FIFA HQ in Zurich comes the news that the Black Cats have been summoned to pay the first instalment of €2.5 million and whilst this does not mean that they will need to pay the remaining €8 million, it’s a step in the right direction in a legal battle that has become messy and complicated. Meanwhile, the player himself will continue to play for Sampdoria where he has been on loan since January.

But instead we'll have to pay him the value of his contract...

Whether the article is true or not or whether we win or not Im still prepared to say the whole things a fuckin mess. Trying to be clever dodging round FFP and ending up infront of the beak for weaseling out of a deal is no way for a professional organisation to carry on. As I said upthread if Alvarez had performed like Payet or Kante or Mahrez we wouldve been hoying the money at Inter.

As I mentioned earlier on: Which is the punishment? £7m + Alvarez or £10m and no Alvarez? *

*these fees may be incorrect as I dont know how to find the euro button on a macbook prothat Ive been using every day for four years:oops::lol:

Another reminder of the Byrne and Congers dream team and De Fanti before them.

We've had some bullshitters at the club the last few years mind
