Inter fans HATE Muntari

bunch of f***ing arseholes man. as far as I am concerned if you have to look through a list of clubs that are possible "choices" for you to support and choose one, you arent a real fan, you've just picked a name out of a hat. You're trying to pretend that you feel for "your club" what actual fans of clubs feel, but you never could. If this lad honestly thinks that inter winning a CL felt as good to him as an FA Cup triumph would for our fans who have gone home and away for years, spend hundreds of hours travelling, spent thousands of pounds on travel and tickets and who have had the club in their blood since birth then he is sorely mistaken.

The fact is that the vast majority of these glory seeking pricks do have local clubs they could choose- theres lads on there from Sweden etc which have well developed leagues of their own. I realise that many places in America won't have local teams to support, they have never really got a league going (and I can understand football fans thinking MLS is franchised shite), but that doesnt mean that they have to go and support the biggest clubs around. There are lads on here who have opted to follow SAFCs results and they deserve much more respect than people who look only at the top sides and "choose" one. If you are going to be an American Inter Milan fan then fine, but what boils my piss isnt when they choose Inter or Barca or Man United, but when they then go talking down to fans of other clubs who havent just picked a name out of a hat and who have their club in their blood and go to matches etc. Plastic pricks calling Sunderland a "shit club" pisses me off- dont go slagging off other clubs when the only reason you feel your club is "superior" is because you f***ing chose it.

He actually makes some valid points in my opinion, still winds me up that having picked a massive club to follow that they then belittle a smaller club and its fans.

It's like me one day deciding that Angelina Jolie's my girlfriend even though I've never even spoken to her and then taking the piss out of your average, but real, girlfriend for being ugly. (I realise that analogy is stretching it a wee bit)

He's probably only aware English fans being bothered by people not supporting their local team because in reading English speaking forums he's unlikely to encounter too many 'real' Spanish, German, Italian or French supporters complaining about it. The only fellow English speaking forum frequenting individuals who are fans of Barca and Inter etc are those of a similar mindset to him, whereas he can understand what's being said on English club's websites and therefore has more of an insight into what 'real' supporters think.

He also fails to grasp the historical roots of the game and associated traditions.

Spot on. As you say, its the experiences and memories that make supporting a football club worthwhile. Travelling to a game, meeting your mates/ family, pre match drinks in the pub watching the early kickoff, going to the stadium, watching the match, drinks and banter afterwards- all these things are vital when it comes to having a genuine love for a club imo. Some lads now live away and dont attend, but they have that love for the club from when they did attend, and its been passed on through generations of their family. This makes you feel as if you are a part of your club, and your club is a part of you and it is a feeling that you just can't fake. These lads sitting behind their computer screens in Sweden wearing an Inter top know deep down that it isnt "their" club. They are a number, a few quid in the bank, they are looked down on by genuine Inter fans, and they have never experienced the joy of a club you love achieving something.

I feel sorry for them that they will never experience the real highs and lows of actually supporting a football club. Personally i would much rather support a 2nd division Finnish side if I lived there than "support" Inter Milan despite having no links to the place, but its their choice- it only starts to piss me off when they think they can comment on actual fans as if they are somehow superior simply because they latched onto a successful side. It's this arrogance and ignorance that pisses me off more than anything else, who the fuck are they to slag off Sunderland? Bunch of pricks- as you say, they are tolerable as long as they shut the fuck up

Wonder if any of them ever took a half day off work travelled a couple of hundred miles only to see their team cheated into relegation and still turned up for the first f***ing game the following season.
Plastic bastards just like the f***ing mags.

I've seen plenty board invasions on here, but I never thought i'd see the day it was Inter Milans

Spot on. Thing is, for these lads, its all about the football and they all want to support a team that wins things. For real fans, the match itself is a small (albeit still important) part of the experience. These plastic fuckwits never experience football as it should be experienced.

I love the fact that it isnt really an invasion- they're quoting our posts on their site, we're quoting theirs on ours, not so much an invasion as a cross board battle

It's like the Cold War all over again.
