I've got a couple of mates who are self employed and being a Mason does their business the world of good.
that's bollix it's actually frowned upon
I'm self employed and a mason
However It's like any club or organisation if you were in a golf club for example and you wanted a Joiner you would ask the joiner who was also a member of the golf club coz you know them

No it's not bollix (bollix??) my mate is a painter and decorator and gets contracts for pubs/clubs etc because of his mason links..I've met some of the lads he's done work for..all masons..fact.

He gets work because he is in a club NOT because he is a mason

Folks on here give each other work it's the same, you do not join the masons to get work

One of the high ranking police officers that was involved in nicking Kenny Noye highlighted the fact that Noye gave him a masonic handshake when interviewing him under caution in a police station.

Fair play to the copper for highlighting it but I wonder how many times such a handshake has proven profitable for similar twats that have been arrested.

Maybe that copper was not a mason and was like most in society who play by one set of rules called the law...or maybe he was a mason with integrity who took his oath to the queen as more important than his oath to a secret club ....worth a try from noyes point of view when behind the blackball

Saw on my linkedin this morning that Brother Wraith is a mason. Imagine turning up and that bellend was there.
So thats wraith..noye and sutcliffe some selection process that
....remind us of any other organisation that recruits well?

bounjd to get some wrong uns in a couple hundred thousand membership
If there is coppers, barristers, judges in you could see why some may be sceptical of preferential treatment in our legal system for example....i was told (dont know if its true?)that there are ways to write certain letters to indicate you are a "brother".Surely it would not be hard to indicate thru the written word in order to receive beneficial treatment...this for me is totally different from say a golf club, where no such hidden signs/letters exist....?

Chair in 98-99 (4750) bought whisky and gin by the case for my year but also for JW and SW years, never got on the ladder for mark or chapter
Chair in 89-90 (97), RAC & Mark chairs followed. Chair of (946) here in Germany in 05. Past Prov officer in all three.
Love it me.

Wrong again..he joined the masons to get the work, that's the only reason he joined..he told me.

Ok if you say so

Surprised they let him join, he sounds like a bit of a fool if that was his reason for joining

Oh well I guess his lodge are not careful, I was told to be cautious

He sounds like a fool for joining an organisation that gets him loads of work..erm ok..

Like I said if you bothered to read my post it's frowned upon and not the reason you should join but your just looking for an argument

I'm not looking for an argument at all and I apologise if that's how I've come across..I've just never heard that it's frowned upon for people to join the masons to get work..if you knew my mate..and there's folk on here who do know him..you'd know he's not the sort of person who would join an organisation to socialise..he hardly goes out..he told me he joined through contacts in his job knowing it would benefit him when he got in.
