India v England series

Why would you ever, in any circumstances play that many seamers in india.
No idea but the highly paid selectors have chosen to.

to be seen what happens in their first knock. If we get them out for 200 and the seam takes 8 of the wickets fair enough.

ive got my doubts

Easier to blame the umpires instead kf saying it as it is. England cant play in the sub continent. Regardless of what happened in sri lanka
Nor can most sides. They haven’t lost a home series since 2004/5 or something

The coach and captain pick the side on tour usually. Albeit I think Smith is there

More recent when Swann and monty bowled well for cook iirc.

two spinners are the way in India since Bishen Bedi first wrapped his turban

another one gone but archer got 14 so decent for his level. Missed a straight ball

I didn’t expect us to win the series and said beforehand I’d be happy to win one test and compete in the rest. It’s the pathetic way we’ve batted that’s the issue for me. Should be capable of making 300 on this pitch, it isn’t that bad to bat on with some application and thought. But if you just sit back like everyone of our plays have then the inevitable will happen sooner rather than later. We’ve basically bent over and asked their spinners how they want to win. Don’t expect a test to be over after 30 overs

That just sounds like sour grapes mate unfortunately the replays all show that the bails would have been dislodged.
It’s just very poor battlng or more the case non batting

I’m severely questioning the ‘replays’.

This pitch has bounced quite extravagantly to the spinners yet the Crawley not out, the Root and the Stokes wickets all were ‘clipping’ despite hitting above the knee.

I’m sorry, but that’s bullshit and I’m not arsed whether you think it’s sour grapes or not because it was called originally on the Crawley not out.

I agree. Its a very hard place to play. Made even harder by our total neglect of learning how to play spin

We were never going to win like but at least put up a fight

I don’t disagree

I also noticed on one review there were little spikes just before it reached the bat. They could have been given

we shall see when England bowl in about an hour, what the umpires do
