Incident in Down Hill

It’s mainly drugs imo. The amount of tick people get into (usually from buying to sell but end up sniffing most of it) is mental. Lads pretty much without a pot to piss in owing many thousands out to people with world class radge levels.
Obviously this case is a bit different but I’d be surprised if drugs aren’t involved, people radged enough to slit throats tend to enjoy a dabble.

Strange looking at the shops nearby now. Saw on the Chronicle article there's only one side has shops? When I were a lad there were two lots facing each other. They had flats on top with the access up a staircase on the outside. Some of the lads from school used to go up there and jump off the roof into cardboard boxes that had been put in one of them huge metal bins. Until my mate broke his wrist.

Also remember the Dome there cos I lived on one of the houses backing onto Kingsclere road further up. We'd go climbing on Bunny Hill and up to where Downhill footy hub is now when it was fields of rape seed. I was younger then than the bairn is now and he never leaves the house without me or his mam.

I would never say things were better then cos I remember bullying being rife round there and we grew up with very little, but in terms of the world being open for kids to adventure, that's all been lost.

I remember the shops been like that on both sides there was 12 shops in total. They were demolished and the new single storey block was built, the original butcher and ironmonger went into the new shops. We also played in the fields and the fair used to come once a year on the fields over the back of redhouse.
