FFS... so the majority are tarnish because a minority. I know lets just ban all forms of gambling...They don't but if you can't see why it might be a problem for someone suffering from addiction I'd suggest you are a bit of a numpty.

How are the majority tarnished? As you said, you are free to gamble regardless of the adverts.FFS... so the majority are tarnish because a minority. I know lets just ban all forms of gambling...
If it has no effect on you (or anyone) why are you so bothered?

Because I feel like I'm being told that I'm not trusted to live my life right, on my own without temptation.
The same way not being bombarded with adverts for alcohol would help an alcoholic.I don't see how it will help.
To be honest the rates they charge are criminal in some countries . I would say that they can only advertise if the APR is less than 20%. In previous centuries it would have been seen as usury to charge more than 20% interest. In fact William Shakespeare's father was found guilty of charging 20% interest on a loan and had to stand down from his elected place on the Town Council.I'd ban the payday loan outfits too, we laugh at the Wonga Mags but there's Satsuma Loans signs on the SOL and they're the same sort of outfit
f***ing disgrace imo, people can big up the free market all they like but they're still shit house companies
To be honest, when they started this with tobacco, I felt the same. But now I agree with what they've done; they've not made it illegal and they've not made it harder to do, all they're doing is pushing it out of the mainstream consciousness. Which is where gambling and smoking should be.
If it didn't work they would not pay to have their names on the shirt. Do you think they are just fans who fancy throwing some money at their favourite club?So shirt sponsors make people gamble?![]()
A bit like those daft bastard politicians/lobbyists who were in the employ of the tobacco companies and claimed advertising had no effect on the volume of tabs sold, it was all about brand share. To be opposed to this is to claim that advertising has no affect on consumerism, which is madness. Less people betting is a good thing. Aye it's fun if you can afford it, but not everybody who does so can.

But you will be more likely to look at sites you have seen advertised first.Myself, looking for a new site to join with a signup bonus. Not because an advert or football kit sponsorship told me too...

Dont know about anyone else but I could murder a trip to the bookies
Because the shirt sponsors will be seen by the largest audience.Yes agreed, but just shirt sponsorship's are being targeted. It's not a blanket ban on all forms of advertising.
But you know about them and see them as supporters of our club, hence they are the good guys. This is how kids are drawn in, so you make my point for meI get all that. We have been sponsored by Dafabet, Tombola and Boylesports, I have never used any of these.
