Yep fair do's, no beef. (Corbyn's still a don mind)
I'm the same, ignore that wank as best I can, some folk are easy pickings though.

I accept that, but it's cyclic. There will be something new next year and the year after and so on. It's human nature to be obsessive, however mines not gambling, it's Greggs ham and cheese toasties ATM...

UKIPer alert - you enjoying 'aving your country back?
You enjoying turning a blind eye to Amazon and Starbucks paying next to no tax while we focus on cutting disability benefits and hounding out hardworking Polish chicken factory workers... you having fun watching none of that really impacting your life but enjoying it all the same?

You don't know me. Do you enjoy watching the southern politicos import their shelf stackers to live (and burn) in slums?

You can't even get stotties down here it's a tragedy.

Never for more than a bag of rice, as you say, but used to pretend to be kinda unwired to clean up in online poker. The 'FIND MADDIE PLZ' handle was my high/low point.

 I played on-line poker at one stage. Got to £150 on Stars from £10 deposit, Got too big for me boots, upped the stakes and lost it all in less than an hour and a half... valuable lesson learned, quit while you're ahead!

Spend hours gently chipping your winnings up, then blow it all in one rash/drunk move you knew was wrong but were too stubborn to drop.

Came out about £5 up over all but I work with a lass whose (soon to be ex) husband has just secritly got them £16 000 debt online gambling.

That's mental. The chinese are even more mental like. One lad told me once he had list £150,000 gambling in casinos in a year. He just phoned his parents and got more spending errrrm gambling money. They have no value for money!

LOL I was about to post that I don't gamble, but I busted a $300 stack at a1/2 table in Vegas this morning when I flopped a set of 8s on a KJ8 board this morning, J on the turn gave me full house and all my money went in and the other guy's KJ felted me. Oh well $110, tournament starts in an hour or so, gotta back on the horse as they say.

Only a loon would vote Tory that's for sure and good on labour for trying to tackle this. These betting cartels are targeting the most vulnerable who are getting way over their heads in debt. Something has to be done.

Only a loon would think otherwise.
Don't mortgage companies encourage people to get in debt as well ?

Jesus i've just opened a betting account... wonder why that happened.
Probably the same reason im eating this Big Mac.
I am so weak minded.
I think the fact that you automatically reference a branded McDonald's product shows exactly how successful advertising is- everybody does it. Advertising doesnt just turn on some switch that makes you buy a product- it informs your opinion, or attempts to, of what and who the product is for- there are people who have never eaten a Big Mac but know exactly what it is, know who eats them (demographic targeted in adverts)- they might not instantly imagine massively overweight Americans but instead the young outrageously attractive people in the advert.
I know it sounds daft and it's not what I study so I'm limited in my understanding and vocabulary but it's interesting to just force yourself to watch an advert critically and think about the cynical process that has occurred for this advert to look like this.

Aye and the way some of them behaved caused the financial crisis by giving way too much money to people who shouldn't have had it. However the betting industry is getting way out of control in this country and needs to be much more controlled before even more vulnerable people suffer.

ffs man those are actual people you are talking about.

Betting doesn't you scerosis of the liver, or lung cancer!
good point but the stress of debt that gambling addiction invariably causes is a major factor in many mental health issues
