I'm hearing some things which don't bode well for our season..

I remember Big Sam saying in an interview the back end of last season the their was a great team spirit in the club and all the players would socialize with each going out for meals etc....

So if there is any unrest it's been brought on by Moyes or the new players.
Was that the same interview where he said he was looking forward to a full pre-season and the new season ahead?

ffs call the samaritons of thats the case then ...oshea wont let this happen however old is now still a cracking club man off the pitch ..so bullshit

It's a difficult one then, if we have the type of players who are effectively downing tools after ten games with a manager. Especially one who has had a decent track record then we have big problems.
Obviously we aren't privy to exactly what goes on and it could be he is behaving in a way that makes his position untenable, but it puts the club in a very difficult position.

Don't think anyone is downing tools mate, I saw little evidence of that for 70 minutes on Saturday although they looked completely demoralised by the end. PL football is a game of fine margins and when you have players who are only adequate at best you need everything to be 100% for them to thrive. It's individuals recogning that some of their team mates aren't giving their best and it's leading to discord imo....and to top it off there's a sizeable chunk of the squad don't believe what Moyes is telling them....it's not the same as downing tools though, it's a lack of trust and credibility imo.

Lad I know is related to one of the U21 players and he reckons PVA is hated by a lot of the players and apparently PVA and Defoe had a bust up few weeks ago. When you've got players organizing their own "meetings" without manager present you know all is not well.

Can't reveal source but there's in-fighting among players, others are behind schedule to return and the manager looks like a dead man walking apparently.

So it doesn't look good for any short or even medium term improvement. Looks like this may well be the year...we already have very little margin for error and from what I've heard it doesn't sound like a club where everyone is pulling in the same direction, and once that's gone there's little else.
Get to end of the season, go down, then skuttle the lot of them.

To be honest Sunderland are so bad I can't tell if they are really trying or not.

tbh I thought they were a bit better on Saturday, but Moyes interviews are reminding me of Smith when he was getting to the end. Come out the match on the way home you would hear him on the radio and think you had been to the wrong match.

I'd be worried if, with us sat bottom of the table without a win in the opening ten games, the players weren't at each other's throats.

Could it be because they're at each others throats and are not a team that we are without a win in 10 games ?

The lack of respect from certain players (PvA and Khazri in particular) towards the manager and coaches who were giving them instructions on Saturday was plain to see. Heads down, staring at boots, lack of leadership and personality. I thought that the players were a disgrace on Saturday and whilst I am not a Moyes fan, I think that there are deep problems in the dressing room. Why that is or who is causing it, I have no idea but it is plain to see.

The problems weren't there pre-Moyes if results are any indication

Well, why don't those who aren't happy at this club and don't like playing for this club simply do the same and leave? They really should.
If they take the money, they should at least "appear" to be trying. It's obvious they are not and in any normal business they would just be fired. Simple as that.
I think they are trying but it's not the trying is the problem. There doesn't seem to be any guidance and confidence which comes from the manager, let alone organisation, especially in defence.

Would you be happy playing for us right now ?

I think the process will start in January. There'll be no M'Vila and I'd expect any saleable asset to be sold.
If Moyes is still here. This will almost definitely happen.

THIS

The second half of the season will be better, if for no other reason that we'll have accepted relegation and there will be ZERO expectations until next season.

Moyes will be gone long before January. In fact he'll be lucky to survive Bonny Night

You can see when they are playing they don't pull in the same direction, they play as individuals and not as a team. The whole team needs striping back and start a fresh with some real quality in it, if only eh. I don't think we will be like Newcastle though and bounce back up straight away, could be down there for years unfortunately.

Would be the first fighting spirit we've seen all season so I take this as massive positive.
