If you could be born again

I wouldn't change a thing because life is always a learning curve and you always encounter the good the bad and the ugly of life and your decisions made whilst aging from cradle to grave.

My first ever Swindon game.
A life of bastard misery ensued šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚āš½ļø
Cheer up. My son's first Sunderland game was against Swindon at Roker when he was about 6 and we lost 1-0 after missing a penalty in the last minute of each half.
I’d would ask Carol out!

Seriously I mean it, it’s my big regret.
I would as well but must be a different Carol. ;)

Education and career (or lack of) is my big regret. Only other thing is one short-lived relationship because of the fall out it caused.
Edit : Also wish I'd got into boxing as a kid.

No real regrets. Made a few mistakes in life but that’s where you learn. Married the right lass and didn’t get into any bother with women before then. Never smoked, anyone I know my age (62) who has smoked for a while looks f****d.

Had a bit of luck along the way but doesn’t everybody. Had a few real lightbulb moments in life when I have changed what I was doing for the better

You still smoking now ? Must cost fortune these days . Don’t see many youngsters smoking now , was rife when i was growing up, still remember smoking in cinema and back 6 rows of Dan Dare flights šŸ˜†
No I packed in. Would rather have the alcohol than nicotine

I often ponder the thought that if I got an incurable, terminal disease, how would I look back on my life?

Some jobs I never should have taken, some partners I should have swerved, some I should have stuck with, but in the grand scheme of things that’s all just dust and part of the learning curve.

I’ve seen a fair bit of the world, lived in another country, have a beautiful child and made a difference to people that matter to me. I’ve lasted - so far - 36 years more than the doctors thought I would and ultimately don’t regret a thing.

Wouldn’t have started smoking though.

Not that I’m quite ready to go yet, of course.
Could just be said ā€œnot started smoking.ā€

I’d have met Dave as a young’en and got in his Friday night drinking gang. Still never been invited out.
