If/when we get back to the premier league

What is our realistic ambition/achievable position?

Obviously we don't want to to back to aiming for 17th every season, fire and hire, repeat until look runs out.

With the money in that division now - what would people expect? Mid table at best each year?

Would take a guaranteed 17th spot for the next 5 seasons

I’d be confident we’d be at least better than three teams.

Nothing to fear in Burnley, Sheff Utd, Notts Forest, Bournemouth, Wolves, West Ham, Palace, Fulham etc.

Wolves, Palace and West Ham would be way above your level. Fulham have some class players in Paulinha and a 10-12 goal a season striker in Mitrovic so should be fine for a few seasons (Willian has also been class this season). Bournemouth have just had a big takeover so will be interesting to see what calibre of players they can attract. Frig knows with Forest.

Burnley finished about 30 points above us ffs.

They’re a much better side than us.

I know we’ve had injuries but come on man be serious.

but we can out grow them. The likes of Burnley and Co have done really well but they have their limitations. They were only better than us because they had just come down whereas we come down 5 years ago.
Even Fulham who have had a good season we as good as matched them twice.

Complete delusion on here at times like.

People harping on about being better than half the prem when we aren’t even in it.

No wonder a lot of people think we are arrogant as fuck

Nothing wrong with getting carried away and excitable tbf like. All part of being a football fan. Naturally going to be optimistic :)

I was watching the Milan derby last week thinking we could take them both for example.

Let's just get there first.

Long term we should be looking at a model like Brighton / Brentford, but with a fan base like Newcastle / City. Do it right and that combination should be good for the odd cup final and the odd European adventure. That would be better than anything in my lifetime / last 50 years, so I’d be well happy.

The poster never said being better than half the PL, he said there isn’t anything to fear, which there isn’t.

Why would you even think about something like this ? Let's deal with that if it ever happens
