If we win against Leeds..(Dodds as manager)

Was a disaster when Liverpool promoted Paisley to manager!
That was 50 years ago. Dodds will never has been under consideration just like most assistant managers or coaches. It would be totally knee jerk to give him the job, just like it was Sbragia, Solskjaer or Robson at Aberdeen.

I don't think they'll even consider it as they won't want to sack him in the future. I think he's part of long term continuity in the coaching staff
Spot on mate, he may leave of his own choosing for a head coach role elsewhere but I imagine he is seen as doing the role he was brought in to do, the director of football model depends on having continuity.

That’s said now watch us go and appoint him hahahaha

If we win against Leeds do we not start thinking about Mike Dodds as new manager ?
He knows the players and was the constant when Neil left.
Has had big success with the Bellinghams .
Might be worth a punt..sometimes better the devil ye know ??
Naaaah, everyone on here would prefer Sable. An assistant/ coach himself, who doesn’t know the club or any of our players. Fuck Dodds, the English version of Sable, who actually knows our players.

No

A much more recent example where a promotion from within following the sacking of a head coach has worked really well would be Thomas Frank at Brentford. When he took over the side I think they only won one game from ten, but they stuck with him. Got them promoted in his second full season, I think. Not advocating Dodds for the job though.

Im not convinced he's comfortable being the main guy. It Isnt a criticism as such its more a reflection of how he comes across. Every head coach needs an assistant and i think he's still suited to the assistant role

Dodds has got a good rep as a coach, but i think the club looked wedded to bring in a young proven upcoming head coach to grow with our squad
i think against leeds tonight he will struggle and so will the team

I would say no but......

If the club have done the interviews and dont think any of them are what they want and they would rather wait until the summer, then clearly its going to be considered.

He is highly rated at the club though and they will try to avoid that at all costs though as it could finish him here.

Don't point him as manager, as others have said he's clearly a positive stabilising influence on the players, so give him a deserved pay rise in his current role however.

We won't beat Leeds though.

There’s a tendency for talented people to be promoted and eventually end up beyond their capability. He’s doing a great job at his current level and the current leadership team will know him extremely well. It’s ridiculous to decide based on the outcome of a couple of games and that I’m certain is not how it’s playing out. What may happen after the selection process is that they will consider him against their preferred candidate and choose on merit.

Except Sable has the context and experience of a professional senior career

In that case we might as well have stuck with Mowbray?
Like Wenger, Mourinho et al?
et al as in who else? I think you've named the two anomalies
