If we win against Leeds..(Dodds as manager)

If he was the man, Speakman should have done it straight away.

I just don't know what will have changed in 2 weeks to go from looking for someone else to realising what we needed was in our building the whole time.

If we win against Leeds do we not start thinking about Mike Dodds as new manager ?
He knows the players and was the constant when Neil left.
Has had big success with the Bellinghams .
Might be worth a punt..sometimes better the devil ye know ??
Malcolm Crosby likes this idea.

Keep him in the temp role for now, then....
If he wins us every game for the rest of the season, and get to the Premier League we could then get Graham Potter as new manager 😎 🤣

Crsoby got us to the cup final & Ricky kept us up In the premier league

But, for better or worse, we lost both of them, after promising Sbragia (Who had resigned his managerial post IIRC) a "Job for life". Mind, by the time we actually sacked him he was chief scout. I'm not totally against Dodds being promoted as you have to start somewhere but it rarely ends well. To be fair, do we even know if Dodds would be interested?

No, our new manager will be sat next to KLD. Will be announced Wednesday looks like it might be Will Still as well.

Honestly think about it ,we probably gonna appoint a coach that doesn't know the country, the area ,the players.Probably thinks Sunderland is a golf waterproof. The flip side is a coach in place now who loves the club ,the players etc.We ve had worse imo

Means jack shit man, would you be content with Kevin Ball?

All a bit Malcolm Crosby.

Decent coach, obviously well liked by the players, steady hand.

Think KLD wants more.

Never appoint from within.
Don’t agree with either of these polar opposites. If an internal candidate has the right skills, and is judged better than the alternatives then by all means appoint him.

But not on the basis of the first few games. Sbragia was appointed on the basis of 2 wins in his first 3 games. He only won 3 in the next 20. Keano wasn’t popular with the players near the end - imo there was relief when he was gone which gave a lift.

LJ was known as ‘streaky’. Looked good for a short while if you caught him on a good run. But once into a bad run he was clueless how to get out of it.

I’m not saying don’t consider Doddsy. Just don’t do it only because we beat Leeds (if we do).

That would Be very kneejerky bit like the Ricky appointment. Thankfully it seems this owner has a plan and is sticking to it be it popular or not.
