If Sunderland went up via the play offs.......

Yes, I know that no one thinks this will happen but it is possible mathematically. If it did how many of our current squad could cope in the top flight?
Patto
Ballard
Hume
Neil
Clarke
Rosco
Amad - if willing.

We need to complete a seven game winning streak to get there, then win three more games to get promoted (ok maybe draw win win)
Not sure the last time we won ten games in a row - maybe over 100 year ago??
No, it ain't happening but watching Forest today I thought they were poor so wondered how many of our squad could cope up there.

Hume was excellent when he came into the team but his form the past couple of months or so seems to be one good game then one bad game, no chance he'd be a starter in the Prem just yet IMO.

Would be worth it just LON shithousing the whole division.

Also the derby would be something else, I swear the few times I’ve seen the scum I don’t think they’re all that and we’d give em a game.

We’d get to keep LND.

Danny Batths been promoted from this league before, has never played in the Premier and massively deserves it.

If we stayed up the young squad would be allowed to grow and we’d get to see them for another couple of seasons at least.

Mowbrays only had one shot at the Premier and was unfortunate (from what I remember) and after this class season I’d love it if he got a shot at it with us and this young team 😎

Don't think many of them would cope to be honest, including some on your list. Would need significant investment which I think is what they are worried about.

I wouldn't be arsed if we went down.

£100m+ banked and sensible signings like we are now. We'd be the strongest team in the championship on our return

This. If the plan was (for example) to be in the Premier League by 2025/26 then even being relegated next season we would have the extra money banked (so long as its not spunked) and another season to get back up for the initial target.

I rate Dan Neil and he’s a decent prospect but he’d need to up his game massively not to look out of his depth in the premier league. Hopefully he’ll get there with us one day and look like he belongs but if we somehow managed it this season I’d hope we’d be in a position to drop him in and out of the side and not expect him to be a regular.
