If its Alf Duncan

Was listening to an old episode of fighting talk the other day and they were slagging off essien at the end of his first season, saying how he brings nothing to Chelsea and was a waste of money. Just shows what natural ability, hard work and most importantly, time can do for a player in this league.

You learn as you play when you are young, the players you mentioned all had played at least 3 seasons of competitive football developing as players.

Duncan has played half a season in Serie B.

Im a little bit sick of this now as going in circles but the point stands that no foreign young player with as little as 19 appearances has made an immediate impact in England.

Why an immediate impact? As that is what we need, we don't have the time for a player to take 6 months to adjust. Sign him but don't rely on the lad as our only partner for Cabral.

Good :) God loves a trier. You can add persistence to your CV, but remove the bit about flexibility

I remember talking to two spurs fans a few years ago they didn't have a good word to say about bale, funny that !

The chief scout knows this lad extremely well from past experience. They wouldn't be considering him if he wasn't up to the job! He is a bit of a powerhouse apparently but certainly not devoid of skill. Hope he signs!

Sneaky feeling this might go through. Nothing was going to happen until we got back from Hong Kong. Wednesday quote would match timeline to pick up where we left off and start the ball rolling again. Optimistic.

just checked his twitter

possible he meant next Wednesday... He probably going to say Livorno anyway
nahh theres a hidden code in there
when he said '#patience' he was referring to the Take That gig he went to at the SOL a few years ago
and the '#beautifulpeople' are the lovely Sunderland supporters he met while he was there
nailed on he'll be here next Wednesday
