He was an awful pundit when he first started out, truly woeful "he's got the ball and he's kicked it in the net" stuff. Improved loads since then but he's a million miles behind the likes of Neville, Carragher, Keane and Souness. People only like him because he occasionally says nice things about us in the interest of fairness.
He's better than Carragher & Souness!
 
And hadn't played for them, would you like him more as a pundit?
Must admit I quite like him as a pundit tbh. Please only sensible adults reply and not radgies
I don't mind him as a pundit to be honest although much prefer Roy Keane.
 
I don't mind him at all.
Irrespective of his allegiance to the great unwashed, he was without a doubt, a great striker, and is certainly not the worse pundit either.
