Idea for SOL improvement

Repaint the blockwork within the concourses, new resin surface to the flooring throughout (as suggested above).

Update/rebrand the kiosks where possible.

Upgrade the sound system (I bet most speakers are from when the stadium was opened).

That would make a massive improvement for starters.

Pitch side the SOL is still a fantastic footballing arena. It's just the concourse areas which make you feel like you're stepping back in time 25 years.

Owners are in year 3 so when does it start. Also always get suspicious of people spouting 3 or 5 year plans, many a con man come into clubs saying that. Do what you can as quickly as you can. Life doesn't wait for plans.
They probably had bigger priorities in years 1 and 2 especially.

The biggest improvement they can bring in cheaply and immediately is safe standing. The back few rows down at QPR were safe standing and it works brilliantly, much more secure than people standing in their seats. Robust bars front and rear means you can leap about when we score; no more hopping up and down to accommodate the weak of bladder or ravenous of appetite; and you can click the seat down at half time or if you need a rest!
There's a load of other things that need attention like the PA, screens, concourses, smoking/vaping areas, abysmal catering, nasty toilets, leaky roof, lack of paint, untrained stewards, and many more, even before we address matters like extensions or away support. Given a limited budget, I reckon safe standing delivers the best bang for your buck!

Cheap improvements: just paint it and wash the roof

Medium improvements: new sound system, larger screens in the concourse area, entry system that works 100% of the time

Large improvements: Corners, South stand, North stand and West stand outside wall to move out by around 8 feet or so making the interior concourse much bigger. Will cost a canny penny to do, but would pay for itself in the long run as more people would be happier to arrive earlier and have a few pints in the stadium

Not necessarily related to improvement. But if they were ever to extend we should extend the lower bowl I.e south stand. Not add to the upper bowl. If that makes sense to anyone. The demand to be sat in the south stand would be higher than it would be cut off from the lower bowl. Extending from the Montgomery statue around to the corner to the PC roof makes much more sense.

Was there not a rumour of the east stand extension and a general tidy up ?
I think an extension needs to be in the medium term plans or we're going to get left behind. SJP has the Euros, we don't for example. It's not a massive ground anymore and we're going to start selling out regularly

So have a massive stand rather than 2 tiers?

Precisely

You could even add to the corporate in the premier concourse (i.e moving black cats bar to first few rows) and additional boxes where the black cats bar is currently.

Think that was the plan to add more corporate boxes to the east stand to effectively pay for it. A 60K SSOL will look great tbh..... if we can fill it

Maybe a "heroes" wall like we have at Albion.. Any away who have been to The Hawthorns will have noticed it/them.

I was there last season and thought The Hawthorns was a really smart, well kept ground. I had been about 30 years ago but can’t even remember the result that day, never mind the stadium!!

Well bearing in mind posters on here have already mentioned improvements in some areas already. But let's slant to negative. I'd imagine close season (you know when there aren't players playing football and 40000 other people) might be an idea?

Sir Bob says he's been made aware of it, so maybe drop him a line and call him out rather than vent on a message board?
Well they got the teles up this summer didn't they

You think billionaires can't multi task?
