I thought you lot said Liam Gallagher was a decent live singer?

:lol::lol:

i don't understand why people get so wound up by it.

he's obviously an amazing singer and front man, or wouldn't be singing in one of the biggest selling bands of bands of all time.

if you don't like, don't listen, put a different radio station on!

I'm not a fan of coldplay for example, but not ganna come on here saying they're talentless and don't know how they sell so many records...

Easy, appeals to the lowest common denominator.

Eh?

I quite like Oasis but their fans on here don't half talk some rubbish.

wey they've sold plenty of f***ing records like. Especially considering their front man is a tone deaf **** who can't sing at all.

Done well considering.

You said they were one of the biggest selling bands of all time, they're a long long way off man. Though they have sold a lot of records obviously.

In the same way that Q magazine said Gallagher's one of the best singers of all time, which again, in my opinion, he's a long way off from.

I've said that I think Oasis are decent but wild claims like the above are daft in my opinion.

fair do's. didn't put it in a very good way - they've sold multi million albums though so they've done something right.

as I would say it's a wild claim to suggest Liam Gallagher can't sing, from those who are suggesting this.

You are basically calling people thick for liking the music Oasis make then you cry like a bairn when people have a pop back at you

You are indeed a utter tosspot

It was front man, not singer

Not this shite again.

Who gives a fuck, Gallaghers voice sounded fine back in the day, I wouldn't be giving him any awards for it, but it was more or less perfect for what he was doing.

Thats what muso types don't understand, you don't have to have the voice of an angel, if it fits the music and sounds good, thats fine.

I doubt Melvin Glover could compete with Pavarotti in the crooning stakes but I know whose vocals I would rather listen to on 'The Message'

I think some mischievous scamps are trying to re-open an old argument.

No, I'm saying people who think that Liam Gallagher is among the best rock singers ever, simply haven't listened to enough rock music that wasn't Britpop.

It's nothing to do with intelligence, it's about the average Oasis fan's lack of any kind of musical education.

4 chords and a whiney yob does not a great song make.

A big difference, and a summary of my point.

If it fits the music and the you like the overall sound, then who gives a fuck.

It certainly fits the music, I'll give you that.

I can't think of any more apt vocalist than a tone-deaf yobbo to yell over the bland jangly 4-chord pseudo-rock that Oasis played.

From the "peak years" of Oasis alone, there were the likes of Chris Cornell, Eddie Vedder, Scott Weiland, Axl Rose, Sebastian Bach... the list of better live vocalists than Gallagher is practically endless.

"Proper" singers like Pavarotti can't be counted, mate, that'd be unfair on talentless shite pseudo-singers like Gallagher cos there's so many trained opera singers in the world, all of whom are better vocalists than Britpop has ever seen.

Best comment on that page... "Did Japan deserve another catastrophe?"

pavarotti would sound shite singing rock n roll tunes ffs.

axl f***ing rose..... end of thread for me

Axl Rose, like him or not (I don't, btw), at his peak was 10 times the frontman and 10 times the singer Gallagher ever was or could ever hope to be.

And I bet Pavarotti would sound better doing rock and roll than Liam Gallagher would doing opera!
