I like Phil Bardsley

The jury is out on Celustka for me - seems to do a lot of spectacular things but isn't so hot on the basics.[DOUBLEPOST=1383046731][/DOUBLEPOST]

I think you read it in a massive sulk.

He might have issued a faux apology but it wasn't full and frank like you suggested, in fact it was the total opposite. He apologised for us fans misinterpreting his 'hahahahahahaha' like we are f***ing dimwits.

Anyway it's not his off field antics that annoy me, it's his on field performances that leave a bad taste in my mouth. Before anyone goes off on one, he had a decentish game on Sunday, nothing more.

Absolutely nothing faux about it. You're just in a sulk.

He has been solid on the pitch for 5 years. His bad games are few and far between.

I haven't seen anything from Celuska to warrant some of the praise he receives on here.
Not sure there's anything to split Celuska or Bardsley to be honest. And I really don't rate Bardsley. Not only is he poor but he doesn't realise how limited he is.

I like Bardsley, yes he's not the best RB in the world (most of our players are bang average though), but he does give 100% on the pitch.

Lots been written about his stupid antics, he's a thick millionaire kid in his 20's, if people take it personally I find it sad.

All I want from him is 100% on the pitch, he's played at RB in our last 3 wins and it must have taken some bottle to walk on to the pitch on Sunday, knowing he would be the main target if we got beat. While he plays I will back him, if we sign a better RB or play Celuska ahead of him I couldn't give a toss, we move on.

Maybe it wasn't the brightest thing Bardsley did, he did it. Probably regretting it now and just wants to knuckle down and work for the team.
Other footballers have made mistakes. Ie Beckham sent off in world cup. Hated by the whole country for it but then scores goal to get England into next world cup. nobody hates him.
Shrek demanding transfer from man utd. Fans hate him. Gets pay rise, scores few goals, Rooney Rooney the fans chant.
Johann kebab just this season wanting to be away from skunks. Fans hate him. Now back in team and fans pleased he stays.
As long as the lad puts in his effort when on the pitch I'll support him.
Booing him or any of our players isn't helping our team.
Ultimately the person who has the power to deal with bardsley or any other player is the manager. He will do what's best for the club. We as fans should do what we do best and that is get behind each and everyone who pulls on the famous red and white shirt

None of them took the piss and gloated when the team they played for got beat though.

I didn't boo him and thought he got the muted reaction, with the odd grumble he probably deserved. I did cheer celustka on to the pitch.

So a player makes a mistake and is given grief for it. All the good that the player has done in the past is forgotten about just hammer them for the mistake.
Thats how Lee Clark was treat. that lad was always last off the pitch applauding us fans, a damn good footballer, part of the team that got us back into the premier league. What was his mistake? Oh aye foolishly putting a tee shirt on about our club. (and some sad Bas tard taking a pic of it)
In the games I watched him play, I never once saw him give anything less than 100%. Never saw him deliberately miss a goalscoring chance unlike CHOPRAT).
Heres a scenario. we're winning against the skunks last minute of added time the so called makem slayer Ameobi goes round westwood and rolls the ball towards an empty net. Bardsley sprints back clears off the line to prevent an equaliser, ref blows for full time.
Queue the cheering or Booing????????????????

In Bardsleys mind at that moment does he A. say to himself "Hahahaha, get in there shola thats showed them" or B, "I can get to that ball and clear it off the line so we win"

The casino thing is a mistake, he can earn forgiveness for that kind of thing, it's obvious he's an idiot.

But taking the piss when the team lose? Fuck that, he can't be forgiven for it. He's taken the piss out of his teammates, the club and every fan who has contributed any amount of money towards the club.

He is also a poor footballer. This doesn't help him, admittedly.

With regards the question above, the real question should be how would he react if he wasn't involved in the first team - from past experience we have to conclude that he'd go with option A "hahahahaha, get in there shola that's showed them" - a similar reaction to his reaction when we were beaten by Fulham this season. I really can't see how people can like him after something like that.

The be all and end all of this saga is that Bardsley is a shit footballer. He shouldn't be in the side on those grounds, let alone everything else he's done.
