Starting to look a bit out of touch and may think it's time to leave the test side?

They've got his number so far, either pace and spin.

Now before anyone starts, he has been and may still on occasions be a world class opener.

I just feel like south Africa, the Aussies have him. Next summer it's India, now he does have a good record against them, so I hope he can continue but imo, we are beginning to see the autumn to winter of cooks England test career

Can’t even consider dropping him unless Stoneman starts scoring and Hameed or to a lesser extent Jennings find their form again in the county Championship

He never looks in form, let’s be honest he is not the most elegant to watch as he has 3 shots so always looks a bit scratchy.

It’s of course a worry, but there are no options to replace him. The comment about him being “lucky” is absurd given how many runs he has scored

He does have previous for going through similar spells of form. He and Root are very much like the Aussies with Warner and Smith get them early and you’re in business.

Replace him with who though? The sad truth is there isn't even anyone who can replace an out-of-form Cook.
This is the key question.

Also remember that Cook goes through periods of poor form and then starts scoring for fun. Really, if Cook for as long as Cook has the motivation he should play.

Does he need 4 or 5 more centuries for you to lose the bet?

I don’t think he has a hundred in him this series at all. So you’re fine for the time being.

Iirc it's 3. The money is already set aside for @essex boy

Though he could fill his boots in New Zealand in the new year

My guess is he probably will mate

If he hasn't stepped up with a score by Melbourne, I'd be tempted to play Jennings in Sydney.

There are a few to look at before Cook. Stoneman/Malan/Vince to start with. Mind with Ramprakash as coach it is a wonder anyone scores runs ffs. He batted like a rabbit in the headlights - scared to death.

He’s had spells like this before. As long as his desire to play is still there he will come good again

Good mockers attempt, but I can't see him getting a century in Perth now.

He'll rack up a double ton as soon as the urn is lost. So Melbourne.

Should be sacked, Ramps. The batting is chronic.
