I just don't get this vitriol toward Coleman...

You've got a fair few likes, so many do agree with you, but a lot there I disagree with:

Why could he have gone anywhere? His last task was not even getting top seeds Wales into a top 2 and playoff position with a group containing Serbia, Ireland and Austria, so his stock is much lower than when he picked a side that beat Belgium 2 years ago.

Zero to spend, maybe, but I don;t see Phil Parkinson breaking the bank balance at newly promoted Bolton, a team we have to catch and are 6 points clear of us (they were 1 point clear of us when Coleman came in).

Players actually responding? Literally 20 games too late. What about the 10 games prior to those 4 or 5 games? I'll write those out for you:

Birmingham A - L
Ipswich H - L
Bristol A - D
Brentford H - L
Bolton A - L
Boro H - D
Millwall A - D
Villa H - L
QPR A - L
Preston H - L

Pretty much all shite, no wins, and 3 (three) points from a possible 30. Had we got say 4 or 5 more points there, which would still have been a very poor return, we might just have got out of this and it was largely the same players as now, yet he got a pass, because these players that are suddenly magically playing better, were deemed 'not good enough' by his backers on here.

I think I'd rather have someone with the experience of League One next season rather than this 'motivator' with a modest at best club managerial record. He's been a disaster and if we are all honest, far worse than anyone was expecting.

P26 W5 D8 L13 F25 A43 GD-18 PTS23 PPG 0.88

He's been here over 5 months now and has had more than half a season, yet we are in a much worse position in the league than when he came in. I hope he leaves.
The same people telling us Coleman could have gone anywhere and chose us are the same ones saying no one decent would come here

Grab an might have stayed and I reckon he would have been able to find a better keeper than camp and not wait until the very last minute to sign him either. Coleman is forever tainted and a failure
I don’t think Grabban would have stayed regardless mind, by all means have a view about him but I don’t think the Grabban situation is a stick to beat him with

Jury will be out for me until i see where we are around October.

Wouldn’t be overly upset if he left in the summer but he’s literally had nothing to spend.

Because, up until a few weeks ago when the players decided to put up a bit of a fight and look interested, we were getting battered with a back 4 as well

Aye that's it. Not because they looked absolutely clueless all year in a back 5. Coleman used a back 4 like twice in his whole time here before the enforced change. One of those games was the one after Bristol (after coming from 3 behind after changing to a back 4 at half time) where we played better but he didn't want to admit we had so he could revert back again.

FFS he could have gone anywhere. He had zero to spend in the transfer window and it really looks like the players are actually responding in the last 4 or 5 games. Next season in league one he is exactly the kind of manager we need...a "big" name and a motivator. The players we will have next season (minus the big ego twats who will go, thank fuck) will hopefully respond to someone who has actually played and managed at a level way above League 1. Get behind him.....I can't believe I'm posting this as I'm normally a right miserable twat.
Don’t be such a precious fanny. People have rightly criticised his performance this season.

They weren't at the start of the season when we should have made an approach for him instead of McInness and Grayson.
That’s completely irrelevant to the point of the thread but yes it would have been nice to get him in the summer.
I think with our budget if he had come in, in may we could have been play offs

Personally for me as much as he talks a excellent game he just isn’t up to the job.

Yes he hasn’t had a pot to piss in and I fully appreciate that.

However the players he has brought in that he rates and thinks are good enough are not they are absolute garbage.

On the back of the above he continues to play these week in week out camp fletcher been the main culprits for example, there’s no way Stryjek or even Lua Lua when been fit is s worse option as Asoro is better on the wing and Maja is still so raw I agree.

His tactics most times are questionable at best and also his subs leave along to be desired.

Yes the few games the players are looking like they want to try a little more however this is still to little to late and also throwing the points and results away that we have proves over all we are just not good enough.

We are in a worse position now than when greyson left and untimatley Coleman has done a worse job, any one else and this place would be screaming for his head but because he is so likeable he keeps getting walks.

For me persoanlly id find someone else for League 1 and I think someone like Mick McCarthy would be perfect.

I can’t honestly think of anything good he has brought to the party. His press conferences were good at first but now it’s like listening to comical Ali
Opinions mate. The responsibility for all this shite lies squarely on the shoulders of Burke and Hare. As long as they are here, I can’t see any meaningful change.

Maybe not but either they didn’t like each other, he couldn’t persuade him/ have the pull for him to stay. To compound that he has replaced him with Fletcher who was unlucky in hitting the post today but other than that should have scored at least 2. No striker no goalie, camp really looked like a dwarf from where I was sat

It's not irrelevant, because regardless if we could have attracted Warnock or not when we appointed Coleman, if we had appointed Warnock then , I have every confidence he would have kept us up, based on his past record of doing it at other clubs.

 so fuck! That's like saying Fergie would.

It’s hard to defend Coleman tactically but I think we really need to go into a new season with some continuity. Don’t think this has happened since the summer after the league cup final.

Also, if we get bought out early in the summer there’s a chance the better players in the squad might stay. Be nice if the manager in that instance has an idea of where we need to strengthen.

If shorts still here in July/August then anyone of any value will be sold as he tries to claw back every penny he feels he’s owed. I dread to think what our team will look like if that happens.

Yes I agree, assuming you mean short and Bain. It’s another decision they have got wrong though, I wouldn’t trust them to put out my bins. On the way home tonight we were chatting about the takeover as I hate Ellis short. My mate reckons he would rather have Ellis stay if the takeover involves a bloke who owns a fish and chip shop and an offy. Takeover for takeover sake isn’t the answer, we need someone who can make a difference with a major cash injection. We need to pay off Rodwell for a start as he is like a cancer.

Question for those people who give managers a few weeks

If it would cost us all our summer budget to get rid of Coleman and appoint a new manager would you do it?

 so fuck! That's like saying Fergie would.
No its not at all. Fergie was one of the greatest managers of all time, Warnock is a decent championship manager who it is not unreasonable to think we could attract.

Apart from that, yeah ,it's exactly like that. Clown
