I have to say…

All down to Southamptons cheating.
The Boro fans had hardly anytime to prepare, whilst Hull didnt even know who they were playing up until Thursday morning.
Felt for both sets of fans.
Not true tho really. It’s the playoff final, the way boro got there should have added to their atmosphere not dampened it.

After watching Boro pummel Southampton at home in the first half of the playoff semi I really thought they'd go for it against Hull having been given this reprieve. I heard they didn't start training again until Thursday. Perhaps that was mind games but if true it's pathetic as they should haven focused on the investigation outcome being positive. Maybe Hull's tactics nullified Boro's attacking intent to some degree but to end up with zero shots on target was piss poor. I'd liked to have seen Boro in the PL but they were woeful yesterday. Maybe Hull took a leaf out of our book and were prepared to just be defensively sound and try to sneak a win late on. Nowhere near there level of our game against Sheffield United mind.
