I have seen some stupid tactical decisions in my life

Takes me back to 1969 when Alan Brown played Bobby Kerr at center forward against Liverpools Ron Yeats. That worked out well.

They know he isn’t going to totally block him man. They just went a bit checking and contact so that he isn’t running like a steam train to head a ball from about 12 yards like yesterday. They are leaving their best headers free round the 6 year box to attack it . So Newcastle after hit their corners out of those areas so vvd etc can’t win it and then really if a burn wins it that far out it shouldn’t be a totally clean header. But when someone switches off and does not even look at burn it looks awful just like zonal looks awful when the attacking team scores as they look totally free.
It wasn’t working all game mate, it’s all well and good having a plan but when it’s clear the miss match is either too big or the player isn’t doing his job you need to change it. I think I posted on the match thread the very first corner the mags had it was clear it wasn’t working from the first set piece and the first goal came from it. If they where going to persist with the tactic then if I were slot I’d have moved someone else on to the block as it was clear he was having free reign.
