I have seen some stupid tactical decisions in my life

The more worrying thing about Saturday wasn't the lack of goals, the hat-trick or the bad defeat. It was that we could probably still sleepwalk ourselves into the play-offs where we will get mullered by Coventry (again!)
I just tell myself that there is no way we can be that had again. That was easily the worst performance of the season.

Put it this way if someone offered me the midfields of each team I’d probably take all of newcastles over Liverpool’s and I’d take Isak anarl. And that’s how it played out. They battered Liverpool all over in the middle of the park and won every second ball

Much prefer Klopp to Slot like.

Can’t see Liverpool retaining the title next year either. Van Dijk & Salah will probs leave which is a massive loss - even if they do get a lot of money to replace them.

Newcastle’s CM is very good like tbf & Isak is genuinely the best striker in the league (him or Haaland).

but nothing compared to assigning the smallest player in the team (5ft 9in) to mark the tallest in the opposition (6ft 7in) at set pieces.
Congratulations Mr Slot

He just hoyed all his attackers on too, madness.

I knew when he said they'd prepared as they did any other game, they didnt give a shit about it, nothing but an inconvinience.

He's not there to win the header, he's there to block the run. The taller defenders are sat deeper to enable them to spot an attacking a run and gain a leap in order to defend a ball played into the edge of the six yard box. Almost every side playing professional football does the same. In general it works, not many corners lead to goals.
A dwarf v a giant ain’t gonna block anything
It was comical

That takes some beating for football stupidity at that level, allocating a dwarf to mark a quite tall player in aerial situations. then allowing it to occur on more than one occasion.
Well Burn is shit in the air and can't head the ball, so it shouldn't of mattered.

Said it before it’s a poor league and they aren’t that great. Slot is still reaping the benefits of Klopp’s hard work. Think he’ll get found out if they lose salah who’s been carrying them all season

It was laughable when they focused the camera on them waiting for the corner to come in. The difference was phenomenal. Absolute madness.

Stupid tactics, silly/sloppy mistakes and playing with no passion it was like watching us the day before. I really want Liverpool to bottle the league now. Them lot winning yesterday will bother Sunderland fans more than it bothers Liverpool fans.

They're obviously top for a reason based on the season but taking yesterday's game on its own merit, having VVD in the middle of the box and 6 foot odd Burn marked by a hobbit blows my mind, then just hoying on every attacking player is Sunday league stuff. I couldn't believe watching them that they are top of the league by so many points

I'm prepared to cut Slot some slack - he may have had an email from the Saudi Foreign Office suggesting using that tactic or face having his head in his hands (literally)........
