I have seen some stupid tactical decisions in my life

Watching Patrick Roberts guarding the near post at corners so that a competent corner taker can have target practice where he has over 2 foot to aim at in clearing the smallest guy on the pitch causing havoc is a RLB low block tactic. Alex Neil tactical masterpiece incoming for Millwall aided and abetted by RLB and executed by George Honeyman is nailed on. I would doubt Roberts is 5 ft 9 so probably isn't tall enough to mark anybody I suppose.

but nothing compared to assigning the smallest player in the team (5ft 9in) to mark the tallest in the opposition (6ft 7in) at set pieces.
Congratulations Mr Slot
That takes some beating for football stupidity at that level, allocating a dwarf to mark a quite tall player in aerial situations. then allowing it to occur on more than one occasion.

Thought todays game was very similar to yesterdays shit show .
Liverpool and Sunderland both supposedly superior to the opposition but both outplayed , outfought and outclassed on the day . Both seemed to be totally out of sorts , both couldn’t string a pass together or create a decent opportunity and both looked to be running on empty.

Only thing more baffling is then letting Burn have a free run and an unopposed header. Follow your man and mark him? Nah.

He's not there to win the header, he's there to block the run. The taller defenders are sat deeper to enable them to spot an attacking a run and gain a leap in order to defend a ball played into the edge of the six yard box. Almost every side playing professional football does the same. In general it works, not many corners lead to goals.

Ain’t watched much footy in the last couple of years, but Liverpool were shocking, looked like they ‘wanted’ to lose almost
They’ve been off it since Plymouth. Maybe they don’t think Slot is all that clever? I’ve only seen the goals and a few highlights but the decision on who marks who would have the happiest of clappers doubting a gaffer if it happened here.

Waste of time trying to explain what professional teams are trying to do when defending corners in this place. You would have more joy teaching your dog how to drive.

It was obvious it wasn’t working though, he looked a massive threat at every corner and mccalister barely blocked him once. It was insane someone else wasn’t put on him he was the main threat but that was down to someone four foot smaller and ten clem lighter was put on him to block him😂😂😂

Whenever I've seen them this season I've been a bit underwhelmed. I used to like them under Klopp. I'd assumed they must have been playing well in matches which I wasn't seeing. But then after getting outplayed by PSG over two legs and Newcastle, I think they have probably just been the team with the consistency to grind out results. I think they are the weakest Premier League champions I can remember in what is a really poor Premier League this season.
