I hate them but..

I want that, let’s not be wankers we would have loved that today but let’s now not be so placid …

We need to demand more from Regis KLD and Speakman . This club is built on beautiful people and beautiful memories, my club means more than anything to me

Time for us to put pressure on more investment as whether we like it or not, that will get you memories

I get it to some extent, but now is not the time imho.

The problem is, some people have genuinely already decided that we need a change of a manager - if we take the attitude that we want to be winning cups now (as in, this close to the end of the season and the play offs)

We’re far better off accepting what we are currently, then getting behind the team, the manager and every one else involved until the season is complete at the very least.

One thing that today showed is that anyone can win at Wembley. Let’s make sure we get there first.

We can’t and won’t be keeping pace with them from now on and can’t afford to be trying to chase them.
The rivalry is effectively dead.
The sooner we realise this the less painful it will be.
Spot on, I just posted on another thread that this feels like a more distant team like Boro have won something, not our nearest and dearest.

If very much welcome the end of this bitter rivalry if it means people focus on us more instead of them.

Rivalry gone as soon as they were taken over.
They weren’t Newcastle anymore , but a branch of the Saudi sports washing arm.
I’ve not had any banter with my many mag mates since the take over.

Sadly modern football is financially rigged. The ceiling for all but about 8 clubs in the country is making up the numbers in the PL for a couple of seasons IF you're lucky & have really savvy owners like Brentford & Brighton. For the rest, the ceiling is yo-yoing between the top 2 leagues with a cannon fodder relegation tour every couple of years.

A managerial change or the odd £5-10M invested by non-state owners won't make any difference to that. You can accept that & enjoy it for what it's worth - a day out at the match, the crack, the odd promotion season - but beyond that it's a pretty joyless experience. We can't and won't compete barring a takeover from the type of megarich villains they have up the road OR a complete implosion of the current financially doped setup, probably including breakaway leagues and the like.

The way some of our fans are going on you’d think the world had ended. A club has won the league cup after 70 years of not winning domestic trophy. Thats all it is. Its not really a shocker. We need to get promoted and get our act together.
