Love Paris but the 10th arrondissement was the scariest place I’ve been after dark. Was going to a friends apartment and came off the metro at Chateau d’Eau. Was greeted by armed police with assault rifles who escorted us most of the way. There was gangs of youths fighting in the street and we would have taken a beating without a doubt.

If you ran at them shouting they would drop their guns and surrender!
 
Brussels

Full of homeless who knock on car windows which are stuck in traffic, horrid huge dirty slums and ghettos (where the Paris bombers hailed from) just outside the centre, generally feels edgy and unsafe when compared to other major European cities.

Anyway Rome was horrific.

Missus was born there...

I'll never forget being herded through the Vatican/Sistine Chapel like a sheep. The streets were packed with American tourists and street sellers shoving stuff in your face. Truly horrendous.

In comparison, Turin was superb.
