He and Cattermole didn't stand out? What games did you watch last season?:lol: Cattermole got by far the best goal return of his entire career last season and was comfortably our best midfielder, by some distance. They both looked above any other players on the pitch when they played last season.
If they were as good as you think they were why didn’t we piss the league.

4k/week? Nee chance.

I'm making no argument as to the individuals worth here just saying that offloading SOME of Cattermole's wages and replacing them with Leadbitter's isn't really good business. I'd say Grant is probably on at least £8k/week. That's £1m over the contract excluding any signing on fees. Out of the £4m we were obliged to pay Cattermole how much do you think he "left on the table" given the assurances made by his agent.
Hes on ten k

So Cattermole was better than McGeady?

It took him a drop of 2 divisions to start scoring goals. Aren't we all pleased.

If he was as good as what some make out he should have led us back up. The fact he didn't tells me enough.
Here's a question for you. What do you think the difference is between the total sum we will pay Leadbitter over two and a half years and how much we gave Cattermole to leave. How much will we "save" over that period.

Just to humour you, i have no idea. I'm pretty certain however that Leadbitter isn't sat on a Premier League contract playing in League 1.

Ducking the question then. It's about the money saved overall for the increase, or decrease in the quality of the player we're left with.

Ok then. How can any club at this level afford to pay 1 player, let alone 2, around 40k a week? We get 20 seconds at best on Quest for TV highlights, the TV money is about to vanish.

We could not afford to keep him regardless of your thiughts of his ability.

We can't. That's not the issue I raised. The question is would you rather have a 30 year old Cattermole with his 7 goals and the form he showed or a 33 year old Leadbitter with 0 goals if there's little or no difference in the overall cost.

I would rather have neither of them to be honest

The time was right for him to move on. Like Oshea he should have been away a couple of years ago.

I think it probably says a lot that he's still a free agent?
