Hume or Cirkin

Hi everyone, who does everyone think should be number 1 left back? Hume still for me, cirkin very hit and miss.
Hume is shite, bang average L1 defender

Out of contract and no one wanted him for buttons compo says it all, realised this so signed on as back up to Cirkin

Do quite like Hume but Cirkin is already a lot better than him defensively and looks to have much more potential out of the 2 in the long run. Hume's a cracking back-up option to have at this level mind.

Dennis Cirkin has the shirt and rightfully so, his performances are getting better and better. Hume is coming back from an injury so once hes deemed as up to speed again he's going to need to try and prise the start away from Cirkin, which won't be easy in this form. I think Hume still has plenty to offer and if Cirkin was to get injured or suspended Hume will be an able deputy. A symbol of our strength in depth for me.
Agree entirely. I don’t think the decision is as clear cut as many do but the shirt is currently Cirkins’ and rightly so.

Play them both. Give them both equal playing time. Why chose one over the other. We need every player we can get our hands on who is good enough to get us promotion. We have a small squad. We need bulking up.

Because one of them is performing very well whilst the other is still injured.

Also, by that logic we should be rotating the squad every single game and always make loads of changes.

Hoffman or Burge? Why not both?
Winchester or Huggins? Why not both?
Doyle or Alves? Why not both?
Evans or O’Nien? Why not both?
Stewart or Broadhead? Why not both?

Seems a bit daft pal.

No it isn't. If you have two nice supercars, say a Ferrari 488 and a Lamborghini Huracan, would you drive one over the other? No. You have two nice supercars. Use them. We have two good players who can play in the same position. Get the most out of them. If you can't you may as well flog the one you don't play.

So do you think we should be making multiple changes after every game regardless of the previous result? If we won a league game 3-0 and then made 5-6 changes for the next game the following weekend, we’d rightly be perplexed.

No, you don’t just flog your back-up option because it’s a long season with cup competitions and a 46-game league. Injuries & suspensions will naturally happen so you need a squad of players in reserve ready to step in if needed.

I like Hume (when he’s fit) but unless he shows some unexpectedly rapid improvement then this isn’t even a question. Cirkin clearly has outstanding potential

Cirkin has been great imo. With that being said, the squad place should be awarded down to a combination of form and ability. Hume is as good a back up as we will get in this league.
