Hume or Cirkin

Hume morphed into Roberto Carlos whilst he was out injured. He’s average. Decent back up though.

It's what makes all the abuse he's getting now all the more embarrassing. Not long ago this board was desperate for Hume to be fit so he could link up with McGeady down the left. Now, he's "not even a footballer" and is slagged off something rotten. We have a lot of games to play and Hume will feature in plenty of them and will do a decent job as he always has. As you say, it's good to have two highly rated young players battling for the same position.

Happens time and time again on here. Steady player who’s better than the lad covering gets a long term injury. Gets built up to be something he isn’t whilst out injured as the back up is shit. Then when they return to the side people go way OTT when said player isn’t what they’ve built him up to be whilst he was injured. Crackers.

Hi everyone, who does everyone think should be number 1 left back? Hume still for me, cirkin very hit and miss.
I like Hume but cirkin looks better each time he plays.
I also really like the look of huggins , and though he made a couple of errors when he came on, he looks like he's going to be a good footballer.

Cirkin is clearly a better footballer than Hume imo. He has the ability to improve with some good coaching, and being able to compete with Cirkin will only help his development. He's no spring chicken though in the footballing world, so he needs to come back strongly. He should be starting tonight vs Wolves, will hopefully be able to watch on YouTube

Cirkin looks a better defender and has a decent final ball on him. To be blunt Hume has neither most of the time.

Cirkin looks a much better all round footballer and is miles ahead. Cirkin is much better distributing the ball when given it in tight spaces, he's a better stronger defender and he doesn't need to beat a man to cross a ball, but he's had absolutely loads of opportunities to deliver balls into he box this season, often in complete freedom whilst set free by McGeady and he's done mostly no better than Hume.

He's done reasonably well on occasions hitting low crosses into dangerous areas in the box, but not often found a man - which is similar to what Hume has taken a lot of stick for in the past.

Some of Cirkin's far post crosses looking for Stewart have been dreadful too, the fact anyone can say they've been good given the stick Hume has had for the same kind of average service is mind boggling and shows the double standards on here.

I'm happy to have them both, don't see the need to slag off Hume as going into last season he was looking one of our better players, but he's just been too injury prone. Whilst I thought he had potential to maybe play a level higher with the right coaching (given his ability to beat players and his energy levels and pace) already I think Cirkin is way beyond that, potential wise.

Dennis Cirkin is the real deal it wont take Spurs long to realise their mistake and exercise their apparent by back clause, we need to enjoy whilst we have him.

yes i did, in between being blasted by kids banging on the girders and watching the game, i did take a close eye on cirkin, other than his run for the goal he was very defensively lax and we got caught so many times in that second half through his poor positioning sense
:lol: he was outstanding man. Do you not think it could have been down to the fact we had nee sod on the left helping him out?

i just think what he does, hume does and often a lot better. as a poster above said, the amount of wasted crosses or passes from cirkin is shocking

Great to see Hume play well last night

will have a future here despite the usual suspects slagging him off m

having competition for places is absolutely vital

mate, they’re trying to get into the top 4. Do you realise how far players we have are from that?

no need for hyperbole like

were you saying Sanderson would play for England last year too?

Still think Hume is better going forward, but Cirkin seems to be getting better by the day and the teams playing well.
It’s a sign of our progress that Hume was one of our better players in previous couple of seasons, he won’t get a look in but for injury now.
Hume can’t defend, tackle, track back, pass, shoot and has a very poor end product and is very injury prone. Shouldn’t even of been offered a new contract IMO

he’s worth money though

Remember not so long ago he was being linked with a move to the championship and folk were fuming that we might sell a homegrown talent etc. Now it seems he wouldn't get in a conference side. Because he had the audacity to wait to sign a contract in case a better opportunity came his way, how dare he.
