Hume Being Watched By Burnley Apparently

What do people feel are his stand out attributes? To me he's busy and puts a strong tackle in. I'm not sure he's great on the ball and I worry when a tricky winger is up against him.

Just his seldom seen crossing accuracy.

He and Bennette are best at the club, but well, we know the striker situation & this nobody to hit up-front curse

When he's allowed to play in his RB position, he's usually very good at getting foward and helping out Roberts, who misses someone to link up with. He usually drifts into good positions on set plays that has seen him pick up a few goals. He's on of very few in our side that can cross a ball and is willing to do so when he sees an opportunity, and last but not least, he's canny in a tackle.

He's also what 21/22? I can see why clubs would be looking at him. He's a very good RB being told to do some very stupid things by his head coach.

He’s quality when he’s allowed to just be a full back. Mowbray seems to think he’s Guardiola having him drift into midfield. Being too clever for his and the team’s own good.

Oh no, are they adding him to Jack Clarke, as they bid for his left boot last season.

It must be time for Nixon to start churning shite out before the window, so expect more stories like this

The guy is only 21 and hasnt had a break all season. He has played in every league game this season and always plays 90 mins for Northern Ireland when they play. I may be biased but give the guy some slack.
Stick most in that category. Neil, Clarke, Hume, Ballard, O’Nien, Jobe play every week. Need a rest at some point. That’s when you need replacements to come in. And we either don’t have any CMs to come in or inadequate options on the bench. This was bound to happen.

His form duped at the end of last season, so it’s not just the tactics, though I don’t think they help
He was outstanding in the run-in…

At centre back.

He looked so much like a young John Stones - composed, positionally strong, elegant in possession - that I think some idiots in our club thought he really was John Stones.

But Stones has been playing at the highest level for nearly a decade before they gave him that hybrid role.

It’s a testament to Hume’s ceiling that he hasn’t fallen flat on his face. But he isn’t looking good.

For me, I think he’s got a high ceiling. But I only really saw it as CB in the run in. He doesn’t strike me as guaranteed Premier League quality at RB. Given we have at least one eye - maybe two - at fattening up our assets for market, I think that explains what we’re doing with him. But it’s not helping.

Very intrigued to see people wanting to play a flat back 4 at home 🤔
Can't beat 442, 2 wingers, playmaker n hatchet man in the middle and a big man little man up front.
Fcuk all these fancy formations and over complicated tactics, false 9s n all this modern day shit passing out from the back causing unnecessary risks

He’s better at it than overlapping and crossing. Has to do something when we have the ball, either in midfield or out wide.
See my more detailed post.

Team still needs to go back to overlapping full-backs though. If that means playing Huggins there, so be it.

He is bang out of form at the moment, some idiots blaming the manager for it, no excuse for him not tracking back now and again to help out or putting in tackles like he was earlier in the season.
How about the fact he has evidently been tasked with a hybrid fullback/tuck into midfield role? Is that not the Manager?
