Hull v Smoggys kick off 1700 sky sports football

Until Wigan's 12 point deduction is confirmed.at least. Stoke vs Barnsley at the weekend is a proper six pointer regardless.

It is mind. If Stoke go down they're in serious bother. Didn't that lad say on here the other day they have £100m worth of players out on loan they're still paying wages for?

f***ing hell as if they're getting beat off these. Boro just seemed to give over after half an hour. They were miles better than these at the start.

Spence looks a quality player, McNair as well but other than that... That Wing looks shite every time I've seen him.
Wing looked pissed, that, or he'd sharted himself.

I think that changed when Gianni Imbula left for Sochi. Stoke paid stupid money for him. However, in Etebo, Afobe and Ndiaye, there's well over 30 million quid out on loan, in terms of the fee Stoke paid. They've also got Kevin Wimmer (who they paid 18 million for) back from his loan to Mouscron in Belgium. That's Mouscron who finished 10th in the Belgian top flight.

HULL

Long, Pennington, Burke, De Wijs, Elder, Lopes, Batty, Kane, Wilks, Magennis, Scott

Stojanovic, Spence, Fry, Friend, Johnson, McNair, Howson, Saville, Coulson, Roberts, Assombalonga

Subs: Pears, Shotton, Moukoudi, Clayton, Wing, Morrison, Tavernier, Fletcher, Nmecha

Imbula signed for 18M and we let him go for free this season. Lost millions on that deal.

Roughly 65M 'worth' of players out on loan this season.

Afobe - 12M
Etebo - 8M
Wimmer - 18M
N'Diaye - 15M
Woods - 6M
Bauer - 6M

Wimmer was on loan to Hanover last season too. Loan with a contractual permanent transfer after 25 games. He played 24.

18 million for WImmer is awful. He cost Spurs about 5 million, did nothing and got sold on to you. Similar to Djilibodji for us (except Wimmer is easier to spell).

Sadly it was only the start. Check this rotten mess out after relegation.

Afobe - 12M
Ince - 10M
Etebo - 8M
Clucas - 6M
Woods - 6M
McClean - 6M (yes, 6M for James McClean!)
Sam Vokes - 7M
Danny Batth - 3.5M
Tommy Smith - 4M
Liam Lindsay - 2.5M

A total of 65M and we're on the edge of League One! This will go down as one of the most spectacular failures of all time.

If it makes you feel better, there's a thread on here where people were saying they wouldn't swap James McClean for Gareth Bale when he first broke through here.

Not sure how that would help admittedly but there ya go

It helped me for about two seconds. Thanks anyway.

The thing is that, looking at each of those individually, none look like obvious bad signings. You paid over the odds at times but got players who should have made a promotion squad when added to Butland, Shawcross, Joe Allen etc.
Its like looking in the mirror

Our one plus is that 13.5 million for N'Dong is better than 18.5 million for Imbula.

When you were a Premier League side did the infrastructure improve much? Did you buy/ build training facilities or an academy?
