"Imagine this Scenario"
"F.A. cup Final Newcastle v Manchester United,Andy Carroll Scores a Billiant Goal with his head from 25 Yds out Goes like a rocket into the net and nearly brings the net down But the referee doesn,t see it AND doesn,t give a goal"???BUT the same thing happens at the other end And Scholes scores and the referee doesn,t see it ,",WE ALL KNOW WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN"..YEAH,the third referee sitting in the stand with his telly will radio to the ref that it was a goal,,,???WHY do the Prefessional Footballers Association not object to this type of trial by television of their employees?????As Its Illegal Under FI.F.A. Rules,,ie,,Technoly ""NOT ALLOWED""?????

:lol::lol:

No debate really.

All guilty as charged. Take the punishment without appeal, serve the bans, stop trying to defend the in-defensible.

I think Hughton has a fair point in saying yellow at worst. The ref saw the incident and did nothing at the time.

You're a f***ing star Rob and no f***ing mistake

All right Biffo, see you at Fulham? ;)

The Grauniad said:
Webb, who later sent off Newcastle's Argentina international Fabricio Coloccini after he felled Elmander with a flailing arm, did not see the incident at the time, but having watched replays indicated he would have produced a red card had he done so.

Yes dear. Nice cup of tea dear?

What do people think to the comment at the end suggesting we adopt a second referee as in the NHL?
Can see his point but not convinced it's appropriate for football like.

I'll make it easy for you Rob ......... the referee saw a collision out of the corner of his eye but, as the ball was miles away, for some incredible reason he was concentrating on play.

I find this totally normal.

In fact, if the referee had been specifically watching Williamson, which would have entailed him having his back to the ball, I'd have found it quite strange.

Why, in the black&white world, would you expect the referee to be watching players who were in no way involved in the actual play and nowhere near the ball?

With the amount of cameras at games only the totally idotic believe they can get away with punching, elbowing and headbutting the opposition .......... that should suffice.

I've just come in and switched SSN on and the incident came on.
OUCH!

I assumed I was being biased in the way I was looking at the incident, as usual, but when you look at the angle of Williamson's heed his intention is obvious.

How can he hope to win that appeal
