How Rich Are We Now?

Surely the richest we've ever been? Between Dreyfus, Sartori and his missus and whatever Metheven and Donald have (admittedly fuck all) we have more money than most people realise. I'm not going to go around shouting about it but it's a nice feeling to have.

I suspect most people on here are this rich;

a + b - c = d

Where;

a = how much you had last night
b = how much you earned today
c = how much you spent today
d = how rich you are

What the owners have is actually irrelevant as they may have very small ambitions and little intention to spend any of it on a football club. For what's its worth like the noises about getting the structure right and getting the academy to work for us. That is far more sustainable than constantly writing cheques as the Short era demonstrates.

From what we have seen so far. its clear that this is seen as a long term project, so I just hope people dont get on their backs after three months. With the salary cap progress in the first team may be slow if at all at first. I hope they do shove a few quid towards the lasses set up though as that's a very easy and relatively cheap hit that would show some intent and also probably some quick progress. Sunderland has produced some of the best female players in England over the last generation without any financial assistance or proper scouting etc. It would not need a big investment to get that moving in the right direction and the competition is nowhere near as strong, plus there are some wrongs to be righted there. Obviously invest in the mens academy at the same time, but I suspect the returns from that would take longer.

No richer than we were yesterday, We just have a richer majority shareholder. If he's got an ounce of sense, he won't put in a penny more than he needs to.

Already made better decisions than previous regime with strategic recruitment. Keen to see players we bring in in january and impact the new manager can have with squad

The way I see it, the wealth allows us to implement certain structures. Allows us to spend necessary money on infrastructure and development. It doesn't need loads spent on the first team. But with a decent youth development and recruitment we could make great progress.

Youth recruitment!! There's plenty of experience in there already. And we most likely have very little wiggle room on the wage cap.
