How old were you when you packed in playing football?

Love the crack on a Sunday morning

This. I miss that the most. Living in North Tyneside I played with 90% mags but the banter before, during and after was what it was all about. Also, playing footy on a Sunday morning is the perfect way to start the day

I used to play Saturday afternoons in a Suffolk league, standard of football was much better than Sunday morning plus you'd get changed after the game, watch the results coming in and all go out on the piss.

Sunday mornings were all about running the hangover off and discussing who had pulled the night before. Happy days.

Aye I love it.
Afternoon back at the boozer after as well.

The footie normally runs my hangover off as well.

I played my last competitive 11 a side game at 62. Although we drew 4 - 4 and got promotion I was playing left back and was constantly skinned by their right winger. That and painful hips and knees has caused me to give up playing football. So I got a bike last year and I've done the C2C ride and this year the Coast and Castles ride. Today I also completed a 63 mile sportive ride in Northumberland.

So just keep going and enjoy what you can do and don't regret what you now can't do!

23 after I did my ACL. Lived with if fucked for about 2 year before finally getting the op done.

Tried to play again after 9 months of physio but me knee kept wobbling when pushing off and landing from headers etc....

Miss it like mad.

This year 23/24 broken metatarsal which still has the pin sticking out of it... Ahh well 5 a side next stop

Nearly 34 and still play 5 a side once a week. Ache for a couple of days after, back and bottom of me foot, but that goes and play again the week after. Not the greatest of standard tbf and it drives me mad when some young 20 year old skips past and my body won't do what my brain tells it quick enough. Still love playing though. Would like to have an 11 a side game, just to see how I get on, but would have to be a lower standard.
34!!!! That's young man, you can get fit as fuck at that age. Nothing to stop you at all

Just wondering as the thought terrifies me!

Just turned 40 and still playing Sunday league, but the young'un are getting to quick......and cocky...the little shits :lol:

In two minds whether to keep playing Sundays or move to over 40's.

Played a couple of over 40's games and they were brutal:eek:.
